You responded to someone saying that Obama was not going to take away the 2nd amendment. You said that he literally was going to take away the 2nd amendment. That was never said, and now you are trying to say that he wanted to do something different. Did you maybe mistakenly say something you did not mean?

There has to be an extremely high threshold before any regulation of constitutionally guaranteed rights is allowed, and trying to do an end-run around the amendments to suit an agenda can not be allowed to stand. Regulating something is not always removing it, but it can easily be abused to do just that if you're not extremely careful about the regulation.

I'll accept this statement to some degree even though I don't totally agree with it. I won't accept someone claiming "Obama said his #1 regret is failing to take away everyone's second amendment rights" when Obama was talking about more gun regulations. These are very different things to say in my opinion.

You CAN regulate rights away but regulation of rights is not inherently removing that right. His claim that they were equivalent was a ridiculous and transparent lie.
