You're extrapolating out what is a likely desire in manchild Trump to an actual reality. He's thin skinned and insecure to the point he can't handle criticism and lashes out whenever he gets made fun of or lies when he gets called out on making factually incorrect statements, not the same as trying to have his critics thrown in a gulag. He may admire Putin, but he can't get away with the sort of tactics Putin has used in Russia against critics and comeptitors in the USA.
I would expect him to continue to be a baby though, he's proven he can't handle it. So the POTUS will be sending out tweets in the wee hours of the morning whenever he is butthurt about Baldwin making fun of him, or needs to make excuses for one of his latest failures in the media. It's going to be a yuuuge embarrassment to the US that will be chronicled in the history books. I also expect more propaganda and brainwashing of his drones to distrust any press source that he does not sanction.
What I would worry about if I were on his 'list' of mean people who make him angry is him now having the entire spying apparatus of the NSA at his disposal. One of the reasons Snowden cited for feeling compelled to blow the whistle on the illegal spying policy was exactly this situation. Something along the lines of a corrupt leader coming to power who claimed 'they'd fix everything' and that entire apparatus waiting there for someone with no scruples at all to make use of. I'd also worry if I were Snowden, Trump claimed if he were made POTUS that he and Putin would get along 'great' and that Snowden would be sent back to the US. He also mentioned Snowden should be executed. So there's that.
I look forward to years of entertainment as @potus is turned into Trump's filled diaper every time he has a tantrum over those who do not cup his nuts as he expects.
