Of the three MCCain. Rudy , and Mitt.
I'm leaning towards Romney. Thx for your imput.

Why? Giuliani is the most libertarian, thus actually favors smaller government more than any GOP candidate in decades.

And he's the only one in the bunch who has a chance against Obama and Hillary.

Anyhow, this is the wrong forum. :p

I'm not looking for a libertarian, I'm looking for a conservative.

Good luck finding that in Romney.

are you suggesting McCain or Guilliani are more in the true conservative mode?
please enlighten me then.

Romney's not really anything more than what the polls want him to be.

personally, I'd really love to see Chuck Hagel run.

bah, IMHO hagel is a rino.

RINO in what way? Because he's opposed to Bush's policy in Iraq?

http://ontheissues.org/Chuck_Hagel.htm
Look there and tell me specifically which issues make him a "RINO".

You might want to scroll down to the bottom of that page and compare the charts vs the other candidates you mentioned.
Based on those charts, if Chuck Hagel is a "RINO", then Mitt Romney, John McCain, and Rudy Giuliani are ultra leftist liberals.

RINO, a term used frequently on the Free Republic Forums. Of course to them anyone left of Genghis Kahn is a RINO.

That only shows how little you know about him.

While I disagree about public funding for abortions, I have no problem with abortion.

The irony about people who oppose public funding for abortion is that one of the reasons for publically funding abortions for poor women is to save taxpayer dollars. The cost of an abortion is miniscule compared to the costs of public school education, child welfare, criminal justice costs, and the costs of population explosion.

The irony is that the Christians are running around screaming, "don't waste my taxpayer dollars on that" when the program would create a long-term net savings in taxpayer dollars.

1) he loved his veto, and with the morons in the general court he needed it.
2) tended to try and cut spending wherever he could, tended to piss off a lot of democrats this way.
3) drove a crown vic as a daily driver
4) hes a mormon, this makes him unelectable in the red states.
5) loves attention, loves press conferences.
6) his opinions on things tended to lie wherever public opinion was, not always a good thing, john q. public is stupid.

I like Romney, but asking people from Mass is bizarre, don't they have kerry and kennedy as well?

Maybe the just like rich white guys who never worked for a living tell them how to live their lives?

I would like to understand the dynamics of an ice cold blue state electing a red governor.
why they like him, and what has he done right or wrong for massachusetts.

Living in Washington I don't really keep up on Mass politics that much as the people would who live there.

lol, ok point taken. I guess I don't follow nebraska politics that closely either.
Still i don't think his candidacy will ever get off the ground , so its a moot point.

I personally liked him. His main goal coming in was to balance the budget, which he did, turning a 3 billion deficit into a 500 million surplus. He did it by cutting spending, which is why he pissed a lot of democrats off. Changing views with public opinion isn't always bad-how many people around her complain about Bush never changing his mind. An elected official is supposed to represent the people and Mitt tries to do that. He has a track record of helping companies is financial trouble, and the budget i think should be the number one issue for this election.

3-20-2007 DNC: Romney Fundraiser Funded Hitler Ad

It's been quite a week for smooth talking Mitt Romney. First he ignites a firestorm by quoting Fidel Castro in Miami.

Now one of his leading fundraisers is linked to a campaign ad featuring Adolph Hitler.

According to campaign finance records, Romney backer John Rakolta was one of the primary funders of a Michigan group responsible for hate-filled ads targeting Governor Jennifer Granholm in last year's election.

The ads, purchased by a group called Voice the Vote, featured images of Hitler and a swastika alongside Governor Granholm and Democratic Presidents Clinton, Carter, Johnson, and Roosevelt.

Rakolta, who serves as Romney's national finance co-chair and the co-chair of his Commonwealth PAC, and his wife each gave $5,000 to Voice the Vote last year.

The news that one of Romney's leading fundraisers backed a racist ad in Michigan comes days after the Washington Post reported that Bob Perry, who gave $4.5 million to Swift Boat Veterans for Truth's campaign in 2004 to distort John Kerry's military record, is now raising money for Romney.

Swift Boat Money Man Bob Perry Backing Romney. Bob Perry, a Texas homebuilder and one of the primary funders of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, has signed on to raise money for the presidential campaign of former Governor Mitt Romney. An invite to the Dallas fundraiser for Romney on March 26 includes Perry's name as a member of the governor's "Texas Leadership Team."
