Why? Giuliani is the most libertarian, thus actually favors smaller government more than any GOP candidate in decades.

And he's the only one in the bunch who has a chance against Obama and Hillary.

Anyhow, this is the wrong forum. :p

check youtube where Giuliani makes it absolutely clear that he favors full government funding for poor women to access abortions. He is pro-gay rights, pro-abortion and pro gun control. Personally, I find it strange that he is running as a Republican. But there you have it.

Many don't know that Mitt Romney only accepts $1 a year salary from Massachusetts despite what is authorized (less than $200,000 IIRC)

Why shouldn't gays have rights?

While I disagree about public funding for abortions, I have no problem with abortion.

The sad thing about much of the GOP is they are blinded by these two issues... when they don't affect their lives at all.

And he is not as pro-gun control as people make him out to be.

If you look at the whole of his politics he is the most libertarian candidate from either party.

I know this is off topic to talk about Rudy but how can you say he is the most libertarian candidate from either party? He favored government funding for abortions. He did favor gun control. He favors giving gay people more rights. He favors more intervention in Iraq, more help for the homeless, more education funding, DNA fingerprinting, etc. He favored government interventon in the Elian Gonzalez case (superceding the rights of the father) and full path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants. He is to the left of most of the Republicans running in 2008. I guess you can call him a libertarian because according to that site you linked, he has no position (that are expressed) on many issues from health care to free trade to social security to foreign policy to the environment.

Did you know that Ron Paul is running for President on the Republican ticket? He actually calls himself a lifelong Libertarian and many of the positions he took reflects that.

With Giuliani, I would call him a social moderate who is running on his leadership abilities. I am not sure what Romney is as his positions may change from one day to the next.

Ron Paul is the true Libertarian in the race.

Guilani a libertarian, HAH. There's a youtube of him from 89 saying that GOVERNMENT SHOULD PAY FOR ABORTIONS. No honest libertarian wants goverment to do anything!

I gotta say, my horse is looking like Fred Dalton Thompson. He could win any debate, and he can always fall back on "Let's break out the Blue Label Jack." which is a great quote from L&O.

god knows there's no chance his views changed in almost 20 years :p

in 1989, I preferred Leonardo over Michaelangelo... I hope my views on the TMNT don't get brought into question if I ever run for office.

I was leaning towards Mitt myself, but am now more towards Rudy because of his leadership.
I am not to worried about the social issues, he has it 'right' on the issues that matter to me. Defense and spending. Plus he has a great record as mayor of what was at the time of his first election a city many though was unmanageable.

BTW Newt would be my first choice IF he ran and I thought he could win the national election. Would much rather win a Rudy v Hillary race than lose a Newt v Hillary race.

No, we did not. Based on what he did to the state, I want a refund

Romney changes his views & positions more than a weather vane.

Romney's not really anything more than what the polls want him to be.

personally, I'd really love to see Chuck Hagel run.

his only major deviation seems to be on foreign policy issues, which is a good thing, imo.

I like Romney, but asking people from Mass is bizarre, don't they have kerry and kennedy as well?

Maybe the just like rich white guys who never worked for a living tell them how to live their lives?
