Man, this is all over the news - endlessly. Other media outlets keep showing footage from FOX - so FOX is essentially running the show. The R's are going to torture Biden for the next two years like they did with Hillary. When it comes to the 'transparency' issue - Biden is in a damn if he does and damned if he doesn't situation. What a mess. Again, I really hate U.S. politics right now.

Yes, they are definitely going the Hillary route with this. By election time well more than half of American's will firmly believe that Biden did something terrible, while being unable to clearly articulate just what it was. Just like they still believe Hillary did something illegal with email but are unsure just what.
In the next few weeks they will come up with their 'Lock Her Up' type slogan for this and start to use it every time they talk about him, leading most people to associate him with that slogan cementing the idea in their brain that he must have done something to earn it.

If you have a large enough megaphone, it is a simple but effective marketing technique and I doubt Biden's Campaign or Administration will have an answer to it.

What's that saying - a lie makes it halfway around the world before the truth gets it sneakers on. The real killer is that Biden, rightfully, called out Trump on his classified doc hoard - but now looks hypocritical. There is no erasing that (it's on video). I suspect that more than 1/2 the country will believe that there is not difference by the time the 2024 election comes around because this video will be shown a 1000 times.

Damn lawyers won't let him talk either. No, it's not the DOJ, stupid Fox.

Some of the latest documents are said to be from his time in the senate. It should make us stop and ask ourselves how many current and former presidents, VPs and senators may have these documents somewhere and don’t remember or know about (e.g. aides packed them.) How do we fix this problem?

What I find interesting here is nobody seems to understand that this sort of thing is very common.

The uncommon part is not that Trump misplaced classified documents, it’s that he deliberately stole them.

It certainly sounds like that but the concerning part for me is that trump refused to hand them over. That’s the issue for me. If you make a mistake fine but as soon as you refuse to allow the problem to be fixed, now it’s no longer a mistake.

At least you _have_ rules about this sort of thing, and that Presidential Records Act.

Here they can do whatever they like, because it's ultimately a family business.

Princess Margaret burned rubbish bags of letters between Princess Diana and the Queen’s mother

The new search was Biden requested, and not something that came out of the special counsel. It's a way for them to show no intent, and to essentially transfer the responsibility to DoJ. In legal terms, it's a win for Biden. In PR terms, it's more of the same.

Some dating back to his years in the Senate, that he knew about (found in a marked box). I'm glad to see so many posters in this forum that since he's their guy (a Democrat) he's not to blame for any of this.

"this sort of thing is very common. " lol

At least I am proud to say I am able to read the law, understand all the words in the law that pertains to this issue and apply it to this situation

Unlike a handful of others in this thread including yourself

This is the thing that has me curious about @interchange ’s post regarding the ‘should’ in whether Biden’s goose is cooked.

What offends me most about Democrats that commit crimes is, first of all their crimes, but second, that they give folk like yourself a means to deflect from the terrible psychological blindness that has trapped you into the insanity of conservative thinking which making you, yourself, your own greatest enemy.

It makes me furious to see that happen. But that is because I hold on to the notion that I am a bad person proven so because I can’t save you.

Thus I have a tendency to want to blame people simply because like all of us we fail in various ways and I was raised to believe that when that happens we should pay for ‘reasons’.

But should he really. What is Biden guilty of and what is the price he should pay? I know you will extract your pound of flesh. Should he pay for giving you that opportunity?

Is he guilty of a crime for which his goose should really be cooked, like Trump is, easily seen to be so to today by anyone informed as to his history by politically indifferent to American politics throughout the rest of the world and hopefully soon by American courts also. That, I believe is objective. Or has he taken those materials for truly nefarious reasons and made an effort to conceal them? Was he even personallyAware he had them and was keeping them for reasons?

How does anybody really know with certainty? Even sound judgment will be questioned by people who have ego involved.

For me this Biden thing will be shit show for sure and hideous to watch play out. F but if there were ever a President worthy of execution for treason it would be Trump.

Can you see that if you were a truth seeker and not a truth deflector your question to @fskimospy would have been, ‘can you show me evidence of how common it is’?

Sure.

But what is known in intelligence circles as "classified spillage" is, in fact, incredibly common, according to former intelligence officials and attorneys who specialize in cases involving classified information. Most of these cases are simple mistakes that aren't charged as crimes: a government employee accidentally takes a document home in their briefcase or fails to follow the correct protocol for handling a particular piece of information.

Many of these cases are resolved with a simple conversation with the agency's security officer, former national security officials said.

Honest question: Aside from the number of documents, what is the biggest difference between the Biden searches and the Trump searches, and why is that important?

Let's say you resigned from working for a bank. You get home and in your briefcase, you find someone's stock documents.

A. You call the bank immediately and say, I have these docs. Please come and get them.

B. Bank calls you and asks we are missing some stock documents from an important customer. Do you have them? No. Six months later bank calls you again and says, "we have records you were the last one who signed out those docs, please return them". "I don't have them". Six months later bank gets a court order for a search warrant and retrieves the documents from your house.

Biden is A. Trump is B.

Still can't see the difference?? In both cases you were not supposed to be in possession of the documents.

Correct. The warrant. I am not asking for myself, I already know. I was asking if imported knew. There are still troubling questions left unanswered (who saw those records, and Im guessing no one with TS clearance. Which is also troubling.) But the warrant.is the big difference.

edit: Im both cases, its illegal, and inappropriate. Just as its illegal to kill one person or 10 people. What remains to be done about it remains to be be seen.
