So I just went to some lame safety meeting and they spoke a bit about electrical safety, and workstation ergonomics. They talked about taking breaks for 5 min or so every 45 minutes you sit at the computer, by moving around and they also talked about taking some sort of "micro pauses."

-Release your mouse and close your eyes or look away from the screen/work
-Rest your arms on the chair or drop them at your sides
-Lean back breathe deaeply and allow your shoulderst to droop
-MOVE!

As I went back to my desk, my simple mind came up with fvcking brilliant plan. This is almost as good as Tenacious D's c0ck pushups, but slightly more feasible.

Here it is... Chair dips!!! I sit at my desk and just work out. Every 10 minutes i sit back, take a "micropause" and essentially do bar dips in my chair! I am in relatively good shape, and i hope to really beef up my triceps using this method. Today is my first day, and I am going to try to get in about 6 sets of 15 dips before i go home and go to the beach.

AWESOME!!!!

The implications for this are unfathomable. Maybe i can patent my idea and collect royalties. What do you all think?

Update 1 Man its only been like 20 minutes and after 2 sets, my arms are pretty fatigued, Maybe ill start a little slower and go for 4 sets.

Update 2 I can feel power surging in my veins. My Triceps are actually feeling like they will be very sore tomorrow, so that seems good. I'm goin home now, I'll update again tomorrow.

Update 3 Its been a week now and I can definitely see a bit of a change. My upper arm are more defined and I can now easily do several sets of 30 dips throughout the day. I will try to keep this up for the next couple of weeks and then I will update again.

Update 4 I have decided to add some stretching into my routine.

We had another safety meeting and it went into the importance of stretching.
I have always been in decent shape, but have never been very good at stretching.

I kinda think it would be a cool goal to be able to do the splits, but I think that i would have alot way to go, considering i can barely get my legs to 90 degrees, much less 180.

Has anyone every attempted something like this?
Are there any special techniques used to facilitate strechiness?

why not alternate between chair dips, squats and pushups?

oh then do a lap around the office once or twice too.

and while you are at it, replace your chair with a stability ball and get one of those little mini bike things that go under your desk.

Mini Bike thing that goes under my desk? Do you maybe have a link to this wonderful contraption?

Also no laps, squats or pushups for now, I'm just gonna focus on 1 muscle group for the next month.

You won't beef up your triceps doing dips. You'll tone them. You need to do skull crushers or use one of the many tricep machine's to grow your triceps.

Your guy across the way, is a genius, I dont play drums but I have attempted it before and my legs/foot got very tired, if your buddy is a drummer I can see how this is an awesome plan.

Now all i need is some sort of pull up bar...

I tried to find a picture of the bike thing that goes under your desk. Its just like two peddles attached to a wheel that you can put under your desk so you can peddle while you work.

After finding some unpleasant search results for "office bike" I gave up.

He's not going to "tone" sh1t doing "chair dips." And fvck do I hate the word "tone." The only people that use it are people who don't know what it means. :p If you mean he'll "define" his triceps (I assume this is what you mean), then no... he won't. Doing chair dips isn't going to make his muscle's any bigger, nor will it provide a sufficient calorie deficit to burn any fat on his arms (or anywhere for that matter, as spot reduction is a MYTH). You CAN however beef up your tris very easily with dips... just you need a dip machine... not an office chair... and a weight belt. I LOVE dips. They're one of my favorite exercises, and I'd take them over skullcrushers any day. Not to discount SCs however.

The only thing the OP will gain from this is some slight muscular endurance in his tris. But at least it's a start.

Hey man so far its all just speculation. I will know for sure after 2-3 weeks of this intense work out. :)
