something like this

That is tight. Only 30 bucks it looks like. They should require those for everyone who works a desk job.

He's not going to "tone" sh1t doing "chair dips." And fvck do I hate the word "tone." The only people that use it are people who don't know what it means. :p If you mean he'll "define" his triceps (I assume this is what you mean), then no... he won't. Doing chair dips isn't going to make his muscle's any bigger, nor will it provide a sufficient calorie deficit to burn any fat on his arms (or anywhere for that matter, as spot reduction is a MYTH). You CAN however beef up your tris very easily with dips and lots of healthy food... just you need a dip machine... not an office chair... and a weight belt. I LOVE dips. They're one of my favorite exercises, and I'd take them over skullcrushers any day. Not to discount SCs however.

The only thing the OP will gain from this is some slight muscular endurance in his tris. But at least it's a start.

Fixed;)

not to mention, only working on one muscle group is retarded

You will beef up your triceps if you do dips to a full ROM as long as your squating :)

I use to do dips at work also when I was doing some testing and waiting for the machine to reset.

A full ROM? what does that mean? Where do you work?

My triceps have not really gotten any bigger it seems, just more defined. It is much easier to make them out when I flex.

what about using a dumbell in that seated overhead extension move? how does that compare to dips and skull crushers?

I thought about doing pushups, but figured that wouldnt be very discrete unless I wanted to act like I was searching for my contact...

i think my chair would break if i tried to do dips in it. I only weight 160lbs, but the arms on the thing are pretty flimsy.

How many calories are you eating each day? How much protein? You can't build new muscle out of nothing.

Yea i have contemplated pushups, and also handstands, but I figured those might be a little too abnoxious, I am only here a couple more weeks, maybe I will try them anyways. My boss probably wouln't care, I go running 4-6 miles with him at lunch anyways.

Calories? I have no idea. Yesterday was probably pretty average, I had 2 bowls of cereal in the morning. Then I ate my PB&J sandwitch and my banana at like 10 or so, then at lunch I bought a philly cheese steak sandwitch a snickers, a bag of sour skittles and a grape soda at around 12:30, then when i got home about 4 i had 2 pieces of costco pizza, a costco muffin, and a mountain dew. Then at around 7 i had 2 half lb bean an cheese burritos from del taco, then right before i went to bed I was a little hungry, and ate a piece of sourdough with cheese. Even if i knew how many calories I ate, I don't see how its relevant.

You were puzzled why you hadn't added any size to your arms, so I asked about your diet. Diet is everything when it comes to building muscle. You aren't going to make any progress if you aren't eating enough of the right foods.

Naw not kidding. I've always been a skinny fvcker. I just eat whatever around when I am hungry. Mostly depends on what my mom buys from Costco.

my workplace has a large gym full of cardio and weight lifting equipment.

They also give all employees 45 minutes per day to use the gym ON THE CLOCK during our normal work hours.

I love benefits!

I had one of those - and it SUCKED. It's light enough that it scoots away from you with every forward push. I ended up donating the damned thing.

That is awesome, a company sponsored work out period. You have got to tell me where you work.

I am sure that fixing the scooting problem would not be much of an issue, and since can do it all day, I would guess you probably do not really need much resistance to get a decent work out and define your legs.

I have decided to add some stretching into my routine.

We had another safety meeting and it went into the importance of stretching.
I have always been in decent shape, but have never been very good at stretching.

I kinda think it would be a cool goal to be able to do the splits, but I think that i would have alot way to go, considering i can barely get my legs to 90 degrees, much less 180.

Has anyone every attempted something like this?
Are there any special techniques used to facilitate strechiness?
