OMG, please help me guys, damn bill :(

guys please help me, i dont know what to do
this is the problem, i got my bill phone today and the charged me $4000 (this is not a joke) i called out of country preety often (call my parents)
and i dont how to pay the damn bill, i'm so confused what to do.
i'm thinking not to pay the bill, i'm unemployed and i'm a college student.
the money i got in my bank only $300,if my parents know what happened they will kill me, and i'm sure they also dont want to pay the phone bill.
the only chance i got is i dont pay the damn bill (i dont have ssn)

4000??? You are going to need to work out a payment plan with your phone company. You should have used calling cards...

Make sure it matches your calling pattern?

Look for anything suspicious.
Make sure you aren't getting suspicious charges.
Quit calling 900 numbers.

Then, quit using International LD so frickin much.
Maybe:
Setup some kind of voice chat over the Internet.
Use more e-mail
As a last resort, write frickin letters?

Don't skip your bill.
The phone company can put a HURTIN on you, especially as a student.

If not...yer kinda screwed. Learn some kind of responsibility and learn to be independant of your parents.

first off do u have any kind of internation calling plan? if not you better call the phone company and talked to them. Also you may be able to work out a deal on how to lower that cost.

Another suggestion is to use calling cards to control costs.

www.noblecom.com is one I use and I know they are others has well. I call outside the us frequently and calling cards really help control that .

How the hell do you rack up a $4000 bill? What company are you using for long distance?
Let's say you're paying some ridiculous $0.60 per minute to call out of the country, that still gives you 110 hours a month to talk.

Call the phone company now, and tell them the situation (you can't pay that much). Say you messed up and set up some sort of plan to pay it off. Maybe they will reduce it somewhat (doubtful).

This is about the only thing you can do unless you have a rich relative.

Work with them and not against them. It will be much easier instead of being hounded by bill collectors and the possible threat of jail time, thats where ya gotta protect your a$$

My friend had the same thing happen to him, then one day the phone cops came and took him away. He has not been seen in over a year now.

the only thing they are going to do if you don't pay is to shut off your phone and put it on your credit... which if you are an exchange student shouldn't matter...

1) If you say you're in college, you better enroll in a grammar course real fast because it's terrible.

2) Where are you making all these calls to? Calling your parents my a$$, I think you're calling 900 numbers you perv.

3) If what you say is true and you were calling your parents, tell them about the bill, since it was them you were calling.

4) You made the calls, take some resonsibility and pay your debt off. Don't come crying to us looking for a handout, it won't happen.

I think you are a cynic. Dont get me wrong, your point is totally plausible, but you just assumed the worst. Benifit of the doubt maybe?

verizon also has local phone service in some areas. I don't believe you can dial internationally on a cell phone unless you have a prior plan setup to do so.
