Just think if she got arrested for Prostitution.
Then how would you feel.
Maybe that is her plan to pay the fine.

People like her should be executed. That would solve our crime problem.

Eli, I can help you with this.
First of all, is this her first offense? If do, there is a 99% chance they are going to let her off with a small fine and community service.
Hire an attorney. I know you said she is guilty, but an attornry would probably charge about $700-$1000 and depending on how well he knows the judge, could get the entire thing dropped.
As for the rest of them saying she won't get a job? Ha, that's laughable. First of all, it's a misdemeanor. 8/10 job applications say "Please list any felonies in the past 5 years." The other 2 will ask for misdemeanors and felonies.
I got a Public Intox (misdemeanor) when I was 19 and I have been hired for 3 very nice jobs since then (I'm 21 now). Don't worry about it. Just get a decent attorney and get it taken care of.

You need to take girls, in general, off their high pedistal in the sky. 😛 Their sh!t stinks too. 😛
Let me guess.... you've never had a girlfriend? 😛
Do you think she could write a formal letter of appology or anything like that and be able to go there again?
🙁

Thanks.
We don't have that kind of money though. I know it would be worth it, but we just don't.
It is indeed her first offense.
As for all you people giving half or one sentence responses, shrug. I have nothing to say to you. I expected as much from ATOT, but I figured I would at least get a couple good responses.
OMG, hahahahahaha, classic! 😛Originally posted by: yobarman
thought i'd add this...
Realistically a misdemeanour is not even a fraction as bad as you make it out to be.f I were you, I wouldn't be worrying about fines. I would worry about how she could ever get her record expunged, in the event that she pleads guilty or gets convicted (which will likely happen). Since it's normally classified as a misdemeanour, she'll not be able to expunge it. (I may be wrong, though.) The sad part is, this will haunt her for the rest of her life, especially if she pursues any careers that would require working with or around kids. Furthermore, she may get rejected silently or in letters because of her background; the employers won't tell her, though. She'll always have to hope for a chance to explain herself. Is she a minor? If she isn't, then this was really a bad timing (i.e., it would have been expunged if she were a minor).

Well, not all misdemeanours are classified the same way. But I can tell you that shoplifting is not a minor crime. It is minor in terms of how much the court has you pay, but the long-term effect is bad if you're going to be working for people, especially with children. I say this from the experience of someone I know in real life, who had no prior criminal records and had shopped a lot at the store in question. I wish the person had the favourable experience some of you make it sound like.
It's still a midemeanor, regardless of class. Realistically it has little affect on your employment opportunities. MABEY if you are applying at 7-11 for a overnight clerk position."Realistically a misdemeanour is not even a fraction as bad as you make it out to be."
