Ok. How do you explain this then?

Everytime I go to a business convention or a meeting with some top dogs of major corporations in any industry, the businessmen almost always have a brand new higher end IBM Thinkpad (or Powerbook..NEVER any Dells), a high end Blackberry device and..guess what? An APPLE iPOD! That's right. I've never seen any of these top Harvard grads using anything other than an iPOD. It's STATUS to own Apple products and that's always for good valid reasons. If it's easy to use, you don't waste time on operating it, you enjoy what it does best. These "sophisticated people" have little to no time fiddling with accessories. If it's a pain in the ass to use, it's not even worth a penny. The price difference is just not enough to justify inconveniences as well as losing face value in using "outsider" products. I used to think otherwise but from experience, I can guarantee you that people will look at you differently. And that alone can make a product much more enjoyable to use.

explain this: my little cousin in high school has an iPod. every single one of her teeny bopper friends have one.

status symbol my ass. i fully admit they're wildly popular, but you just painted the iPod to be some sort of device that people will be in awe over if you have one.

losing face value in using "outsider" products.

hahahahaha, you've got issues if you're worried about losing respect from strangers because of your mp3 player.

I can guarantee you that people will look at you differently.

i see you're still in high school as well, so i'm sure you know what i'm talking about.

Fvck what other people think, just get what you wanna get. Who gives a care if you get an apple cause you saw it in the movies, or if you get a dell cause they are cheap. Just be satisified with yourself and go have a

Well if you guys think that, you're probably from some 3rd world state and don't live nor work around status driven grounds. Probably also the types who think Armani Exchange or Abercrombie is high end casual fashion. When you live in such a place where it's expected of you to own certain things much like a cell phone, you'll quickly realize how wrong you are. Not having an Apple branded MP3 player is like walking the streets bare footed and yet expect to get a job

At the risk of sounding like an 8 year old, sounds like you're a loser then.

I know what the box comes with you have to buy the dock separately however the dock appears to be white :\ and would rather have it match the ipod

ah, my bad, i read your post wrong. i thought you were asking if the dock was included.

going through the checkout process with a nano dock up until they asked for a credit card, they never asked what color i wanted, FWIW.

there's a type of encoding specifically for audiobooks where you can bookmark...at least according to friend who has one of the color ones.

they recently released updated software for your iPod for this purpose. The iPod should download it automatically when you connect to iTunes, if not there is a program at apples website that does it. This makes it so even older models are capable of the audiobook, bookmarking thing

Wrong. Many that are that thin are only 128mb/256mb players that are flimsy and cheap.
It's basically a good looking product with mediocre features and a higher price tag than the competition
How is it mediocre? How is it higher priced than the competition? Point me to a 2GB flash player with color screen cheaper than $200, or a 4GB flash player cheaper than $250?
