OK, so I just called CC, and they would supposedly price match the BB price. There is one location that has them in stock, so I am going there after work.

With the 110% PM from circuit city, this turns out as:

99.99 - (197.99 - 99.99) = $90.19 at CC pricematched to BB. Best part is, this will work today.

Actually its 10% of the difference. So only a dollar off. And you have to ask for it or they will just give you the same price. not that thats a bad thing. ;)

Where did you learn math at;) The 10% of the difference between 197.99 and 99.99 is $9.80.

Yep I read it wrong. But be prepaird to fight for it. But HD-DVD for $90 now thats HOT. :)

The difference is $100 so 10% is $10.

Ah, my fault... the math should have looked like this:

99.99 - (197.99 - 99.99) *.1 = $90.19

This is a great deal. Even if you don't like any of the 5 free HD movies, you can sell 'em ebay for $10~$15 each. By PM'ing with CC and getting your return on the 5 free HD movies, this deal qualifies as being FLAMING HOT. I'm on my way to CC right now.

That's pretty normal, really. Many plants actually come with a longer guarantee than that--I've seen 1 year return policies on some shrubbery.

Damn... I was just on my way out to PM at CC too... oh well. I guess I'll just run over to Walmart in the morning and see if I get lucky.

Otherwise, there's bound to be a $100ish player for Black Friday.

That's the A20, not the A2.

Maybe, maybe not.

Some Wal-Marts were hiding them in the back and then were planning on putting them on shelves late last night.

Sounds like I believed mis-information about the 1080i/1080P difference; sorry!

Two further opportunities for me to spread erroneous information:
a) TV/Electronics staffer at local Wal-Mart said they -hoped- to have the A2 for sale today (Friday), but as of yesterday they had not received them, BUT they said it was quite plausible the nightly truck would deliver them! [Marlton, NJ store]
b) The guard-dog (lady) at the exit said they would open at -7am- for this sale, not 8am as I just noticed posted above.

It's available for purchase NOW, in certain areas. Go go go!

(Apparently somebody went early, and was told that in the system it could be sold as early as 6 am.)

alright,

The walmarts around me open at 7am which I did not know about.
They were giving out the DVD players, laptops etc.. at the customer service booth.
I got the 2nd to last one so I lucked out.

I woke up at 6:15 am to shower and such and got there like 6:55-7:00 am and there were like 15 people standing in line already, not to mention a bunch of people leaving with laptops and hd dvd players while i was walking in.

people in the west coast go like an hour or so earlier than opening.

I got lucky, my local walmart had no clue about the sale.

Walked in at 6:15am, picked up two HD-DVD players from the electronics section (they had 15-20) and checked out at the front register.

Congrats on the HD DVD players guys, and that's a pretty sweet laptop for $348 too. That's only like $326 CAD. Wow.

I'm surprised they let you buy two HD DVD players though. I can't believe they're so clueless as to not know about their own sale too.

P.S. When you hook it up, please post your firmware number. (The latest is 2.5.) It would be interesting to know if they've updated the firmwares for this sale, or if they're gonna make Joe-6-pack do it.
