True. Unknown brands suck big time.

I love both of my Samsung LCD TV's.

I remember when samsung was thought of like olevia and vizio.

Having worked with the exec leadership at Olevia, this is not surprising. Terribly run company.

we love our 32" olevia lcd except for the fact that the speakers gave out and it cost too much to send the lcd back to them to fix it and all within a year of purchase.

Everybody knows they suck.

If they provided good tvs for a cheap price they wouldn't be going out of business. That's the point.

Same here. We got a olevia 37" a couple years ago and about 6 months ago got a olevia 47" because of the price and the quality we got from our 37"

Actually both Olevia and Vizio have gotten very favorable writeups in some of the high end AV magazines.

Here's one of them http://www.hometheatermag.com/lcds/507lcds/index3.html

Alot of times it's not the product that kills the company but its management.

We had out 32" LCD 720P/1080i Olevia for 3 years now and have been very happy with it, considering we only spent $750 from BuyDig.com on it !!! We liked it so much we bought a 23" from OfficeMax for only $300 2 years ago and it has been awesome.

The reason a company goes out of business is usually due to mismanagement, or being stuck with a product when a product sector changed fast than you could (which could also be blamed on management).

I have syntax olevia 30 inch tv, and it's been OK, their service was pretty good when power supply died. They sent a repairman to my house to fix it. Must have been expensive :)

Funnily enough, when I was at the new LA Live! (times square west) construction site last week, I noticed that Olevia was the LA Live and Nokia Theatre sponsor. Sucks for them, time to find a new sponsor before Stage II opens in the fall.
