Samsung actually makes some fucking awesome LCDs. Great contrast ratios, and very bright screens. My college kid budget doesn't allow for a $1000+ Samsung LCD. It does allow for a $300 Emprex 32" LCD. Contrast ratio leaves a lot to be desired, but I had to turn the damn backlight down because it was lighting the whole apartment up. Onboard speakers burnt out, replaced them with a Sony HTIB for $100 as opposed to dealing with their horrible CS. Happy +++ :p

Yes. They're made for budget purposes.

Olevia and Vizio suck.

True. Unknown brands suck big time.

I love both of my Samsung LCD TV's.

I remember when samsung was thought of like olevia and vizio.

I'd buy Olevia or Vizio over Samsung any day.

Ok ... I like my Olevia but lets not get crazy ... if the price is comparable theres no way in hell I'd take it over Samsung, Sharp, Sony, Toshiba or even Panasonic.

If you want to say Olevia's are a great value for the price vs Samsung etc I can't argue.

I'd buy Olevia or Vizio over Samsung any day. Don't recall mentioning Sharp, Sony, Toshiba or even Panasonic. But now that you mention it, I'd buy Olevia or Vizio over Samsung and Panasonic any day.

Roflcopter. At their current price points you would, but if they were equal priced, there is no way. Otherwise you are experiencing an inverse price placebo effect.

I actually like off-brand electronics. I like the idea of finding a hidden gem. For example, I got a Dynex UPS for very cheap a couple of Black Fridays ago and it was actually a CyberPower UPS which are well regarded. Also, it's like discovering a very pretty girl (Olevia, Vizio) that all your friends haven't noticed because they are infatuated with the cheerleaders (Sony, Samsungs). Since they haven't noticed the pretty girl yet, you think you might actually have a chance with her! Also, Olevia reminds me of Olivia Munn whom I miss because my stupid Comcast decided to move G4 to the digital channels and now I can't see her anymore! Olevia!!!! I miss seeing you!!!!
