NYC is just a strange, crazy, and violent place.

The rampant crime, general nastiness in the streets, the mayhem on the subways make the city hard to live in. Unless you're rich.

The never-ending racism of Rudy, the Stop and Frisk bullcrap of Bloomberg and skyrocketing rents are what made me leave the Big Apple for good in March 2010.

Hope it gets better for those who need to stay or cannot leave for various reasons.

Please don't ever come to New York City you nasty disgusting human trash.

It's funny the amount of miles I've put on my bike, the amount of subway rides I've taken, and late nights I've had in the last years that have all been wonderful. And many of the people in the city have similar experiences. Though some say it's definitely a little more gritty then before Covid but nothing at like 2hat the horrific disgusting conservatives make up.

Last night had a picnic in Central Park, saw Shakespeare in the park until 11:00, had a lovely nearly 30 minute walk in the city, and then a midnight subway, and it was absolutely lovely as usual.

I hope these snowflake conservatives never come here because they think it's anarchy. We don't need the true filth that are Republicans today in our city.

Dude.. what is the basic need of the person shooting random people on a motorbike?

What's the basic need of those women harassing asians on a train?

The need to inflict pain and suffering!

You're not going to reason with these scum of the earth.. you have to be TOUGH ON CRIME!
When a person has all their needs met suddenly risking it all by breaking the law becomes significantly less attractive.

Gonna make a new thread with its own topic.
People have a hard time squaring the idea that the sum total of murders committed in cities like NYC and Chicago are way higher than the sum total in say, Jacksonville, but the odds of the average resident of Jacksonville being murdered is way, way higher.

I'll amend your statement to saying:

We don't need the filth of Criminals and Thugs in our City!

The majority are okay, work hard and do good and don't want to be beaten into a pulp or killed by criminals and thugs!

You are turning into a moron really quickly.

Yes there is crime in NYC, I never implied there wasn't. Though it is still on the safer side for big cities in America.

I'm all for fighting crime with an ethical and accountable police force and a more just justice system. I am not for what the righties, and now you, are doing, which is sensationalizing the crime with insane exaggerations.

But if you want to join forces with the jackfuck righties that portray nyc as a crime ridden anarchist hellhole, well, I guess I'd have to say to you as well, go fuck yourself.

I tend to blame the media more for this. There’s a good book on this called ‘the culture of fear’.
Of course you know that when you say blame worthy I would say causally related. Blame for me requires intentional immorality. I believe the media is asleep to their role in this and self interest in the form of income is the motivation. But I think what benefits the prison industry, and I would expect heavy lobbying from them were any attempt to exclude them from profits derived from captives, I think also that anything that benefits corporations generally will put them on the same page generally. Both industries profit from fear and stoke.

Next thing you know hand he'll have you in prison for watching Shakespeare and you can bet your ass there won't be any of that sweet tea you're high on.

He's not a right winger. He just sounds like one on the crime thing in regards to NYC.

Don't worry, I hope all right wingers of today get properly fucked.

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck it should be shotgunned out of the sky like a duck. You can't take any chances. I don't want him crawling under my bed and disturbing my sleep.

New York isn't even in the top 20 of the most violent cities per capita:

I think the shoe fits, alright, but may differ on who it really fits.
Please quote me where I have condoned violence as a pre-emptive action.

Don't forget, you are the one that is ok with the gun violence we have since you don't really want to do anything about guns.

M intention toward you was always to suggest that while we have very similar views as to the threat to our nation modern Republicans pose we have very different reactions to that fact. You are full of, in my option excessive righteousness contempt born of the helplessness posed by their bullet proof resistance to truth seeing in that something hideous and evil and worthy of maximum vituperation, an in my opinion, unhealthy and irrational condition, whereas I have insisted you can see the truth about them without all the excessive blame.

They are what they are and your gigantic frustration about that fact does nothing but fuel the wheel of karma. You see monsters; I see deeply sad people who are how they are because they were raised in a world just like them created, people full of fear, contempt, and demanding their childish emotions be met. What I see in them and in you is what I was not able to deny is in me. We are all the same.

What would we be without all the damage? How can we get back to the garden?

I can think people are deeply sad while also recognizing the evil inside them. One only has to open a history book once to understand reality. One only has to read the news for a week to see how these current people are in lockstep with the worst of history.

What you see is your own ignorance and you relish it. There have been many many many like you throughout history. Ignorant, proud of it, and enabling the most evil actions in history by poo pooing the actual threat as you repeatedly do, in fact insulting those who see it, and simply ignoring historical facts.

Here comes the traditional low level thinking characteristic of people thinking with their egos. Where did the feeling of need to inflict pain and suffering come from. I would say it is the result of not having their real emotional needs as children met leaving behind scars and a vacuum that is nothing but need but can never be filled.

Never saw it. Please post your fairy tale again
Two things. Republicans are deeply sick and dangerous. Republicans are afraid. Their whole ideology is also dying.

here's some history for you, specific and relevant to the point:

Post 16 in the thread

Republicans losing the public battle on abortion so what do they do? CHEAT!

You are looking at history with your capacity to understand it and how it may or may not apply to the present. I quoted you a historical fact. Your worries about some mass uprising on the right are proving to be wrong. You are making assumptions I pointed out a fact. Almost nobody came. As it was so shall it be in the future, right. There were Nazis in Germany that did terrible things. Here the Nazis failed to show. What you call history I would call a projection of your fears. I call madness a mind that races to connect one fear after another to one's personal context.
