Are you taking this position because brake checking is illegal in some places? Or because you think it's likely that even if brake checking was legal, the person in front would still be liable for braking quickly?

She's taking that position because the story is about two old men and not two old women.

Their insurance probably wouldn't pay, since the accident wouldn't have happened if you'd continued to drive legally and safely. If there were witnesses, the cops would include that information in the police report, and you could face a charge of reckless driving, as well.

You're not very good at this law thing, are you? ;)

You're a fucking idiot. If you're going to let somebody behind you hit you, at least do it when you don't have an opportunity to hit the car in front of you too.

It'll be fun when the police decides you slammed into the car in front of you before your tailgater rear ended you, eh?

Yes I am an idiot! What's your point!!!!!?

There are certain vehicles that demand total respect on the road ... those with flashy lights on top & the total rust heaps with clearly nothing to lose.

Not sure where you are going with this, but I was the one being tailgated in that post.

I will not let someone endanger me.

Unfortunately, its going nowhere. I just wanted in on some Alky bashing, sorry man :whiste:

I hate tailgaiters with a passion.

That being said, if a Lamborghini ever tailgaits me, I'm gonna see a piece of debris in the road and slam my brakes, hoping that I don't hit the debris. I'm sure the other driver won't hit me, right? Oh, I do hope so. My insurance company would have a field day.

I've always wanted to do that to somebody, but it never seemed worth it to intentionally put my car out of commission and have to deal with all the insurance bullshit just to wreck their life.

it could be considered your fault too. In my area, about 4 yrs ago. a Taxi driver was being tailgated by a guy on a crotch rocket. Taxi guy slammed his brakes, biker hit him, flew off the bike and hit a telephone pole killing him.

Taxi driver got arrested. I don't recall what the charge was but he was sentenced for 10 yrs i think.

sometimes ppl overreact to tailgating. like if you get somewhat close for a short period of time, the driver in front will go apeshit. it's funny to watch. i don't tailgate. i just prefer stepping off the gas and judging the distance in front of me.

they wouldn't like NYC or such places too well i bet. I think you have to tailgate just to prevent a multi car collision over there, lol

...and I guarantee that 99% of the drivers out there don't have the balls to do it. Also, it is such a stupid thing to do, why would you purposely risk injury to "prove a point".

i don't think a point even gets proven in such a case other than it says "hey, i can't handle it cause i'm weak minded".

i don't pay tailgators any attention. what goes on behind me isn't my business until they hit me.

In the thread I linked, clearly you do.

Yeah because someone almost caused a pile up? I wasn't tailgating her...she slammed her brakes when she was already in the flow of traffic.

You clearly are very angry and can't see you are wrong.
