ROFL. I love it when someone tails me. What I do is accelerate and allow them to follow me closely then when I approach the vehicle in front of me I brake hard when I am about 4-5 feet away. This scares the shit out of the vehicle behind me. FUCKERS!

You can also really fuck yourself up if the guy behind you doesn't hit his brakes. This is a pretty stupid thing to do.

Rednecks here do something worse...they go full speed at the car in front knowing no one can see around their truck and then swerve at the last minute causing pile ups.

If you know a way to adjust the time on that site, that would be good. It is a narrow window of time. By the time I arrived in Miami (the accident was up near Boynton/Boca) the page was on newer incidents.

That's was why I was hoping PBPost would have more on it, like two old men beating the dude. They literally jumped out of the van when it happened and then realized the traffic situation at 8am ish in the morning.

I'm not talking about your car. Cars can easily be replaced.

In reality, a brake check is going to have them hitting you at 10-15mph usually. Not a smart thing to try for, but usually not a life-threatening event.

UNLESS the guy behind him going 55+ doesn't see you both stopped.

Agreed, still not worth attempting.

One thing that has always stuck with me from Driver's Ed.

You can never control others thoughts, feelings and actions on the roadway. Once you understand this, you stop doing dumb things like brake checking on a highway.

I don't consider getting into a car wreck pwning some one. pwning would be more like if the minivan driver threw a hand grenade or a milk shake through the open side window of the mustang and then sped off unharmed. Hell just turning off at the next exit or slowing down until he passed you in frustration would be better than getting in a car wreck and then having to deal with the douche in the mustang for however long it takes for the police to arrive.

...

I dont know, being rear ended at 60 mph is going to give you a good chance at losing control of the car.

I've always wanted to do that to somebody, but it never seemed worth it to intentionally put my car out of commission and have to deal with all the insurance bullshit just to wreck their life.

Their insurance probably wouldn't pay, since the accident wouldn't have happened if you'd continued to drive legally and safely. If there were witnesses, the cops would include that information in the police report, and you could face a charge of reckless driving, as well.

It wouldn't feel good for very long.

Puke, the rednecks do that around here, too. Sigh.

You're a fucking idiot. If you're going to let somebody behind you hit you, at least do it when you don't have an opportunity to hit the car in front of you too.

It'll be fun when the police decides you slammed into the car in front of you before your tailgater rear ended you, eh?

They both looked retired...I don't think they were in a hurry to get anywhere.

I just cruise in the morning. Fortunately I don't have a strict schedule at work. If I am stuck in traffic, I will just call my appointment if I have one and let them know I will be late.

Weaving rarely saves more than 10% of the total commute time.

It's hard to be accurate throwing something out of a vehicle at 65mph+

A deer passed in front of him... what is he supposed to do?

Not if the vehicles are at the same speed. Just lead a little due to wind drag on the projectile and you should get it pretty easy. Heavier items are affected less by the wind... e.g. bricks and bench vises.

Better have a witness who saw that deer.

If the OP told 911 that the old guys brake-checked the tailgater, those old guys are probably screwed. :(

I dont condone deliberately causing an accident, but if I were the only witness I damn sure wouldnt side with the tail-gater.

Doesn't need to be a deer, all the driver needs to say is he thought he saw a deer.

Are you taking this position because brake checking is illegal in some places? Or because you think it's likely that even if brake checking was legal, the person in front would still be liable for braking quickly?

Not at all.

all the driver has to do is say he thought he seen a deer. alky can stand there and tell the cops he didn't see the deer at all and it really wouldn't matter.

its up tot eh person behind to travel at a safe distance in case a deer really does show up. IF he rear ends the person in front then it is his fault 100%.

yes brake checking is against the law but it is something very hard to prove.
