No response from the state Republican Party? Hmmm, they must be onboard with the idea.

Time after time Republicans prove yet again they are the racist party.

Space-time existed before humans and relativity proves time exists.

Rulers and arbitrary measurements of distance measure space and clocks measure time relative to our space.
Time is an illusion. There is no such thing as simultaneity. The human construct of time assumes it's the same time in two places, but it never is, that's simply an illusion. That's part of relativity. Only the universe exists, time does not.

I disagree. While time is relative to space, it is also INHERENT to space. Time, while relative to, is inherent to thermodynamics and physics.

I was a physics major. Time, as conceived by most people is different from time in theoretical physics.

I don't think so. Human's invented it. Time is an illusion. Humans have created many illusions.
Not all events happen at the same time. How does one separate the events? Speaking as someone who collected time tagged data for a living.

I figure that no two events happen at the same time. They may seem to, but simultaneity is a concept, not something that verifiably happens. There's always the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle, which basically guarantees that.

If y'all want to argue over whether Achilles or the tortoise wins, I hope your navels aren't too linty to gaze at 😛

Funny, after this post, I was thinking about that exact topic. The act of measuring itself changes things at least at the particle level. And also, are we in the local frame or not.

IMO a classic trademark of discussion forums is when the topic is a political one, for some reason the discussion gets around to something as irrelevant as the space-time continuum.

Meanwhile back to the Republican Islamophobia
Isn't it tribalism that gives rise to such madness?

tribalism

trī′bə-lĭz″əm
noun
  1. The organization, culture, or beliefs of a tribe.
  2. A strong feeling of identity with and loyalty to one's tribe or group.
  3. The state of existing in separate tribes; tribal relation or feeling.
Tribalism
Tribalism is the state of being organized by, or advocating for, tribes or tribal lifestyles. Human evolution has primarily occurred in small hunter-gatherer groups, as opposed to in larger and more recently settled agricultural societies or civilizations.Wikipedia

About time we had a thread about time.
Yeah, well, it's something I think about from TIME to TIME. 🙂 It's not something that gets talked about a lot but it's kind of fundamental in how lots of folks conceive of their lives. "Be in the moment" is a meme but belies the fact that there's no other possibility. There's no other place you CAN be but in the now right now.

And even then, "now" has already happened, because we live in the specious present, it takes time for that information to make it to our brain and be processed!

Actually, she's right. Islam has been there since the beginning of time. But time traveling Jews went back and erased all evidence of its existence, and substituted a distorted version of it several thousand years ago. God waited until he thought we were ready to learn of the true original religion again, when it was passed down to a prophet to give us the knowledge back.

I would have just smote them and erased all history of them, but the big guy works in mysterious way.

And before anyone asks, no you can't have what I'm smoking, I need all of it!
