Have you tested your memory at lower vdimm? I have noticed that my memory only needs 1.75v to run @ 1600MHz vs. my previous cpus that needed 1.85 to run the same.

OK, at 4127 mhz, 1.5 vcore, 45c load max, seems stable occt @100%. It just re-booted@ 45 minutes, I think I wil add a little vcore, and try F@H, its really close.

Nice, adding to your current systems. Are you replacing the 955?

Ya straight drop in in 955 system. Hope I can do much better on the NB. your 3000 NB rich made me droool.

cant find the shin etsu or as5 tubes.. BAH!

foun tuniq tx1 evercool ec4520-tu15 thermalright generic thermal paste and some rocketfish thermal paste that seems EXACTLY like as5.

hmmm will try for 10 more mins to find good stuff or using tx1

Anything over 2.6GHz for NB clocks is gravy. 3GHz requires more voltage, but everything loads crazy fast when paired up with my SSD. You can really tell the difference between 2.4GHz and 2.8GHz in program loading time.

I Settled at 2.6 I WANT 100% Stability, then I might try for more. So far, very impressed.

Mark, by chance what cpu cooler are you using at the moment?

Just a $25 Sunbeam Core contact cooler. And with F@H, I am at 42c, 100% load, 12,236 ppd !!!!! CPU only, using all 6 cores. My I7@3700 is only doing 5103 PPD right now. And there is almost no heat output.

I must be dreaming. I need witnesses !

Is that good output, Mark?

I7 920 @ 3.7 GHZ, with HT enabled. 9100 ppd.

AMD 1090T @ 4.127 GHZ 12,136 ppd.

Yes.. I am on drugs, or this thing kicks ass. I will work on screen copies.

Wow, pretty good. With GPU folding, does that add a lot of power consumption as well vs. just CPU folding?

The GTX 260 in this Thuban box is like a spaceheater and does at most 7000 ppd. This CPU itself is does over 12k, and I can't feel the heat off the cpu to speak of. 7 hours to complete a SMP2 unit ? I will post in DC and see what they say, but lets just say this thing kicks ass and counts bodies (as the saying goes)

How the hell do you get the cooler to latch down? I tried my hardest but couldnt get it.

I don't know what to say, it was easy. Make sure the cpu is seated properly.

Sorry.

You can even go lower, vcore wise manimal.

Ya I think so, just wanted to see if it would last 1 hour of prime and few linx passes at this. 45 mins now loading at same exact temps the 955 loaded at with a Big typhoon with a gentle typhoon on it.

Just jinxed myself....

Grats on all your leet overclocks. By any chance can you do a few gaming benchmarks with the NB oc'd and compare to the I7 at same frequencies?

You got it. Damn, 2.5x > oc'd i7 920 at least in that specific application?!?!?!? :0

I think I now know what my next upgrade is gonna be.

Mark, what motherboard are you using?

Currently running Prime95 for the past 55 minutes with no issues (so far). SpeedFan temp says 42c. Currently running a 1090T @ 4 ghz with 1.45 vcore & everything (voltage wise, memory timings) set at default

Is there a better program I should use to check the Temp or is Speedfan fairly accurate ? If it is, I'm thinking I can either lower the vcore or increase the multiplier.

However when the cpu was practically running idle, the multiplier kept changing automatically (like power saving/cpu saving mode is still set to on/auto.

I disabled C1E support & Cool&Quiet but I didn't recoginize anything else to turn off/disable.
