On the iPod (2001): "No wireless. Less space than a nomad. Lame."
lol. Fools never learn.
When your criticism flies in the face of reality yes, i'd have to say it was based on pure bias or hate. If there were 200 dollar windows tablets that flew like wind you would have a point, but the market has PROVEN your assertions about the ipad to be wrong. if the ipad is a rip off why do the joojoo and archos cost just as much, and run like sh*t. when you are claiming that a device that costs the same, runs faster, has double or triple the battery life of its competitors and is lighter, as inferior or a turd, you aren't dealing with reality are you? you are comparing it to some fantasy device that doesn't exist to claim its a rip off. that doesn't fly.
Where are these people getting $500 if they have time to enough time to wait days in line?Wow. I just saw on the news that people waited in lines for days outside the stores to buy this thing. Sad people are sad.

No, it's a way of life.
the 3g version has gpsIf this thing did gps or had a gps accessory it would make a great carputer
And I was in my local Best Buy this morning for something unrelated and decided to walk back and see if they had any in stock. Let's just say I laughed that people waited in line for days...
You live in TN, in So Cal the Best Buy I went buy had a huuuge line. I'd bet my pink slip that you won't find one out here as of right now. I mean I guess the idiots (as you call them) could have bought a plane ticket to TN so they wouldn't have to wait in line. But if a person wanted one and didn't live in BFE waiting in line would be the only option besides pre-ordering. You won't find a store in LA that has 1 in stock.

I've been playing with it for 2 hours. My brother brought it over and yes there's some awesome iPad only apps like the Marvel one which is sweet and it's very polished but I can't understand why anyone would pay $500+ for it. It seriously is just a bigger iPhone/iPod touch and I guarantee you anyone that is buying an iPad already has an iPhone/iPod touch so there's practically zero reason.

From the comments on Toms.
Hmmm doesn't look like much to me except for the LiPo batteries which are dangerous.

Now add iPad to the list.

Employees at an Apple store at 14th Street and Ninth Avenue in New York told shoppers they expected to be sold out of iPads by the end of the day, Julio Ortiz-Teissonniere told CNN's iReport. Later, an employee said the store still was selling iPads shortly before 7 p.m., though he declined to elaborate about the store's supply.
Without citing figures, employees at other Apple stores across the country said Saturday afternoon and evening that they still had iPads to sell. One worker at a store on Stockton Street in San Francisco, California, said it had just a limited stock of 16-gigabyte iPads left late in the afternoon, but it still had a pretty good number of 32- and 64-gigabyte iPads.
I can't believe people even expected that to charge off of a USB 2.0 port. It's a 10" monitor attached to a phone for cryin' out loud; that's just a bit much for the 2.5W maximum of USB. USB was meant to connect devices, not charge them.Lol, sucks for you beta testers
