Since I am a Type I, I'll chime in.

You can drink, even get drunk, as long as you do it with people who know what's up. I wear a pump and drink a fair amount, my last A1C was 6.2 (less than 6.5 is good control, less than 6 is practically non-diabetic)

It is definitly NOT a good idea if you don't take care of yourself or lack the ability to sense a low while drunk.

But even in the best of scenarios, it's still a risk. the trick to type I is figuring out how to minimize them and still be able to live your life.

I drink, too, but very little at a time. It seems a lot of younger people pride themselves on drinking until they pass out - glad you are keeping a close eye on it I have made almost 24 years with type 1 now, no complications yet (knock on wood).

And to all of you that are living with type 1, keep on trying. I know how hard it can get.
