Gas prices continue to fall, despite liberals claiming they are at an all time high and were manipulated by Republican's to make more people poor.

Now that doesn't make sense. Poor people vote democrat. hmmm... looks like yet another hole in the DNC ship they named Colander.

Explain how Exxon Mobil made record 75% profit and $100 Billion dollars then  :cookie:

They didn't make a record 75% profit. They made a 10% profit. I see you can't read. Looks like your tin foil hat is covering your eyes again.

Explain how gas prices continue to fall despite the fact that you are wrong... okay, that's easy:

On the way to work today I noticed prices were lower than yesterday and lower then they have been in the prior weeks. This skill requires reading numbers, something you're clearly not good at, and making a correlation to prior day and week price history, another thing you obviously can't do.

As far as your claims, well that's simply because you are one of the uneducated masses that blindly follow what the DNC controlled liberal media tells them to believe.

Looks like Colander needs to head back out to sea for awhile. 😀

The 75% is being shown as "profit" on CNN's Money website....though it seems like that link it getting hammered or something now.

Here is the quote "While Exxon's quarterly profit was up 75 percent ".

Was up 75% compared to last years profits, profit margin is 10%.

Uhh.. they didn't? They made $9.9B profit, over $100B revenue, for a total profit margin of ~10%, up from ~8% from the previous year.

Jeez Dave, you spin statistics and numbers just like a career politician. Why am I supposed to vote for you in '08?

Remember the left is supposed to be the educated, well refined portion of our country lmao.

We have 3 of them in here who cant figure out the different between profit growth and profit margin lmao. Not to mention their reading comprehension leaves something to be desired.

But the red states are full of ignorants hahaha.

Thanks for the compliment.

I don't expect any apologists to vote for me.

Time for the Country to just cut it's losses on those folks and concentrate on getting non-brainwashed people in enough numbers to overtake the sheeple.

That may be but it doesnt mean it is time to elect people too ignorant to understand what profit margin is.

The non-brainwashed people that care more about the Country than profit margins is what is important.

Hell, I would put us back on Steam Engines if that is what it will take to break free of the Oil Barons like Exxon Mobil raping the Country.

Brilliant energy policy right there, nothing but brilliant.

But first to care less about profit margins than the country, one needs to know what profit margins are 😀

Most of the Republicans on here are screaming to cut wood.

I agree and take it another step further to rid us of the Oil Barons.

Of course that will piss off the very same Republicans screaming to cut wood.

Just looking our for your best interests. I wouldnt want the envrionement groups breathing down your neck because you decided to replace 20 million barrels of crude a day with trees 😀

I would much rather deal with Environmental Groups than the Oil Barons anyday.

I would work with the Environmentalists. What a concept.

Somehow I dont think you telling them you need to cut down and burn the equivalent of 20 million barrels of oil a day will get you very far with them.

These are the people if you fart in the direction of a NW spotted feret bat your business is burned down or you are sued till your eyes bleed.

Dont act like werent warned.

Why's that... like a Star Trek episode we're going to visit this alternate reality where you destroy the US in a hour? I could make time for that! 😀

From duplicate thread...

Our economy has prospered significantly with the expansion of cheap, reliable fuel. It was known from the start oil wouldn't last forever; hell didn't they call for end of oil in 20 years like 40 years ago?

I'm a firm believer that this time oil consumption will far exceed production even with extensive exploration efforts. Fact of the matter is, we as a society will need to innovate to survive, just as we did with agriculture...developing new technology will allow us to sustain our way of life for the next couple centuries.

Government mandated low energy costs will just encourage more wasteful consumption, no alternative fuel sources and back to the same old way of life that got us here to begin with. Sure the profits of oil companies are huge, but when you consider the shear volume and rarity of their product; these profits are not out of the norm. Software, healthcare, pharma, military, almost every industry has higher profit margins than oil companies. Fortunately these companies are digging their own grave; the higher the prices, the less people consume, the more people adapt to accomodate their new environment.

In the end I find it strange that liberals are against big oil for their high prices, yet advocate alternate fuels like wind and solar. I will tell you right now the ONLY way these technologies will get developed is if the price of oil increases. Not only will you have the ethical people on your side, but the economists, finacial people...a beautiful thing for an environmentalist.

In the end this will be the next frontier of growth; the energy revolution...just as the world wars have simulated our economies in the past, this will give us a little hit on the short term, but turn into something we cannot afford as a society to delay. Also, you act as though energy is only affecting the US economy; fact of the matter is, of all the nations in the world; the US is in the best position to bid the highest price for this limited resource.

This shoots down all the Republicans in here screaming that the Oil Co's are working on coming up with alternative fuels:

10-30-2005 Alternate energy not in cards at ExxonMobil

ExxonMobil, which stunned Americans on Thursday by reporting nearly $10 billion in profit for the third quarter, says it has no plans to invest any of those earnings in developing alternative or renewable energy

Exxon's huge profits and its reluctance to use them for alternative energy development are unlikely to win much applause from motorists weary of $3 gas, suspicious that the current decline in prices will be short-lived, and hoping either for plenty of gas on the market or for a cheaper alternative.

The Sierra Club, an environmental group often critical of the auto and energy industries, said Thursday: "Americans want clean sources of energy that protect public health, reduce pollution, curb global warming, and save consumers money. Instead, ExxonMobil has worked to make America more dependent on oil."

Who gives a sh1t what the envirowackofundamentalists think?

Out of curiousity who said that oil companies are working on coming up with alternative fuel? (which they might be, just not with this increase in profits)
