The artistic side is the only one that has bias. The technical one is very rigid. But most of the time, you could see the difference in artistic performance. Emily and Kimmie both skated technically sound rounds in the short program, but if you watched them, they seemed out of place in their movements, and the program just didn't flow, hence the low artistic marks. If you watched Sasha's short, you just knew that the program ram very well, and it was very pleasing to watch.
Too bad Michelle Kwan backed out this year. I always wanted her to win the gold. These games were very bad this year, mainly becuase of the lack of US medals, and the lack of atmosphere in turin. The winter Olympics are usually my favorite olympics because of figure skating, and hockey.
