haha, at our super wal-mart, there have been people camping out for the past 2ish days, 20 people to be exact, and the store only got 16 xbox's

i dont work there, thats just what my computer teacher told me, he was gonna go and wait there, but theres not really much of a point if you know your not gonna get one.

Weird. They expect to have 40 at my Wal-Mart. 😛 We plan to go check out the line at 6PM tonight and see what it looks like. If there aren't too many people there then maybe I'll wait. I haven't decided if I want it for any other reason other than to have it sitting under my LCD or if I want it to actually play. The problem is that by the time most of the titles come out that I actually want I could probably just walk in and pick up the hardware to go with it.
 
I just called the Best Buy here and they informed me they're only getting 30 consoles. I asked for the breakdown and they said 10 are the premium and 20 are the core. 😕

The odd thing is if you look at the allocation numbers that have been posted, the store here is supposed to get the exact opposite.
 
i want to get one mainly because i wouldnt mind playing some games with REAL hdmi support, but im really going to hate myself if i get the 360 and then the ps3 comes out and owns it.

although.. i love the xbox 360 controller, and i love the way the console looks. but is it worth fuggin $400. thats the real question.
 
im looking at the going rate as of now on ebay which is around ~$620 w/out shipping, i expect it to increase right before xmas.

heh.. this Xbox will kill the average PC... Dual core CPU and a faster GPU than the top dog 7800/x800PE..
and it interfaces with WMC as an extender... so basically its like the old XBOX pre modded with XMC..
very cool.
its not just a game system its a mutimedia showcase to attach to Windows Media Center PCs to the living room without even having to have the PC in the living room anymore..

But it can't play divx... deal breaker. I'll stick with my full media center PC in the living room...

Its been discussed here previously that it will not...

If it will, and I end up running a cable to my main HTPC for enough bandwidth to stream HDTV, I may actually pick one up!

wouldnt make much sense for a MS Windows Media Extender device to not use the #1 codec on the planet..

as much thinking they have done on this box wouldnt make much sense to me.
 
I just called the two Walmart Supercenters in Oregon (Wilsonville and Wood Village)... Both of them said that they already have more people in line right now, then they have 360's in stock.

i wonder if costco will have the bundles tomorow? I think executive members can go an hr early. Wonder if I would have a shot.

All 3 Walmarts in the Reno area said the same thing. The one I went to had 19 people in line for 12 systems, 8 core systems and 4 bonus pack.

I went to my local 24 hour Wal-Mart this morning at 8AM. There was already someone in line and they are only getting 14. 2 premium and 12 core.

Luckily my pre-order should be shipping from Amazon tonight/tomorrow. I also have a plan to get one in the morning.
