That's probably the thing, then, as I'm not nearly as sensitive to frame rate issues and tearing. I'm more of an immersive gamer than seeing more of what is on the surface. The frame rate would have to hit low around 15fps before I'd notice it while playing action sequences.Originally posted by: purbeast0
I'm running 720p.Originally posted by: blurredvision
I'm surprised to hear you say that. What resolution are you running at? 1080i here, and I got no noticable framerate or tearing issues. I think it looks fantastic. The only thing that I thought looked cheesy was the rain splatters on the gun, but even then, it's not that bad.Originally posted by: purbeast0
The graphics are terrible (horrible framerate + mad tearing), and the game just feels so generic. It has A LOT of aim assist (I thought that L trigger was lockon initially because when zoomed in, my cross hair just stuck to the enemy).
I also noticed the aim assist, but I could not care less when it's single player. Doesn't bother me one bit.
I dunno I think that since I'm so picky I'm just very keen to noticing framerate hits and tearing issues. It was very noticeable in the demo, as well as the framerate looking like a PS2 game at some points.
THe tearing wasn't as bad as it is in Saints Row, but it's like between how bad it is in Saints Row and a game w/out tearing.
Ah okay. Well yah since I'm just really into gaming I notice this crap big time. Anything below 30FPS and it bugs me heh.
The one thing that pisses me off about the Xbox360 is that they have the games running in a bunch of different resolutions for people w/different TV's.
Atleast the freakin devs could make it run the same in EVERY resolution before shipping it so that there aren't huge framerate/tearing issues. Most noticeable is Saints Row. In 480i (I brought my 360 to the beach during a hurricane last year and played it) the framerate and game plays and looks great. But put it on an HDTV in 720p and the graphics to go shlt.
There has to be some sort of standard that should be met and MS should not allow crap to get through IMO. I hear their testing that the games have to go through in order to pass to be released is pretty tough and intense. I would think framerate and quality would be one thing they put at the top of their list, but apparently not.
