you know i do not like sim racers really (just haven't liked em since GT1) but this Forza 2 demo I'm impressed with.

The graphics are nothing special at all IMO, but the sense of speed and 60FPS and the control just make it flow very well.

I'm going to defionitely play me some Forza 2 when it comes out :)

Holy crap, what a great list of Crackdown improvements!
Easier Orb Hunting: Imagine how great it would be if when searching for the last remaining hidden agility orbs the audio range on each of them got wider as fewer remained; well imagine no longer. Audio ?ping? range is now gradually increased when searching for the last 50 percent of hidden orbs, and 20 percent of agility orbs.
NICE addition. Does me no good for agility orbs, though, as I have them all.
Improved firing over low walls: Agents can now fire downwards at a greater angle while taking partial cover behind a low wall.
Would've been nice to have this fix when I was playing through.
Targeting enhancements: Improved target lock prioritization of enemies behind vehicles as well as live enemies over corpses.
Another nice fix that bugged the hell out of me on my play through.
Distant Explosions: No matter where the explosion(s), players will be able to see them provided they have a line of sight? it?s always a clear day in Pacific City!
This is cool, although you could already shoot a rocket across the entire map and see it explode a few seconds later, even hear it. I guess this one is only good for co-op, though.
Ramp Truck Issues: Some vehicles didn?t seem to get on well with the ramp truck, but we never intended this to be a SUV-only toy. Now none of them can get enough of it!
This is a nice fix, also. Will be interesting to see how much air you can now get with other vehicles. When Chris and I played co-op one time, we found out quickly that the SUV was the only vehicle that was compatible with the ramp truck.
Keys to the City: The ultimate Cheat Mode!
VERY NICE! Sound like fun, and will get me to put the game back in.
Vehicle Impounding: The Agency Garage has been given an overhaul; this was partly to accommodate the brand new Peacekeeper Vehicles, but also to allow Agents to impound their favorites so that they?re always available?in their preferred color.
Another great addition. Can't wait to see what the new place looks like. Even gives another achievement to earn by going Pokemon on collecting cars.

The new vehicles sound like they open up a couple more opportunities for those playing through the campaign, even though the vehicles were never the main draw in this game.

The weapons even look good in the premium pack, especially the MSK Lobber and Harpoon weapons.

The new mode, Rocket Tag, sounds fun as hell! Checkpoint Chase has GREAT potential as well.

Can't wait for this content! I wonder how Crackdown would've been received with all of this new content included in the original package?

This is a new Halo 3 beta video that was released yesterday. It was posted in another thread, but noboby responded to it, so I'm sticking it in here. Personally, from that video, I think this game is shaping up to be fantastic. It looks to be the same ol' Halo multiplayer that we love, with a few a tweaks to the weapons. The graphics are looking better than they ever have, with the textures and geometry coming about nicely, and the lighting on a couple of the levels looked awesome.

I am also glad they are fixing the ramp truck issue, that drove me crazy when we tried getting that long jump achievement.

I guess the crackdown will be getting a lot more use soon compared to the last month or two. Halo 3 beta + crackdown update

I need to retract my statements made about GRAW 2 before it came out.
I hated GRAW 1 and thought I'd hate GRAW 2, but I actually like it a lot. :)

I got it from gamefly last week and have been debating whether to just keep it. The online coop campaigns with 12+ people are crazy!

Still wish there was a cover system in multiplayer, though.

Just got done playing the demo. In a word? Wow. Actually, it was a pretty damn well done teaser demo. It lasts all of 10 minutes, so teaser is definitely the key word here. But this game uses the Unreal 3 engine to great effect. The graphics are fantastic, that will not be a problem for this game. The controls are good, with a single context-sensitive squad-ordering button, left-trigger zoom (which I like), and melee attack.

The two weapons you start with have a great punch to them, they feel "meaty". The sound is pretty good when cranked up, lots of bass to the firing sounds. I didn't look for any other weapons in the short demo, so if they are there, I didn't see them. The enemies seemed smart in spreading out, but this could've been a fluke in my one time playing it :).

The only thing I didn't like was the too-extreme camera shake when firing with the assault rifle, but would in all reality be fine once I got used to it.

The huge shockwave at the end of the demo was pretty damned awesome. It's nice to see a HUGE boss creature in an FPS game again.

EDIT: They make you sit through static screens of the game's features at the end of the demo, and this game has 2 player Live co-op through the entire single-player campaign. Nice!

Sounds good!

I remember in the Area 51 on Xbox the one thing I really liked about it was the SOUND. The sound was incredible in that game and it sounds like they continue it on this one. I'm looking forward to trying it out later.

I'm not even normally a sound guy, but I noticed it in the demo big time. The lightning and thunder, rain, the aliens screaming/screaching, and the weapon sounds were fantastic.

September 3rd is the current release date on IGN and EB. Too bad we won't be playing this until the football season starts (which always seems oh-so far away).

Just played the 51 demo and I agree with blurredvision a lot. First off, it was really fun, I was not expecting that. I did have a lot of crappy frame-rate problems though. I hope they fix that. The game has a lot of little touches that added to it. Like inside the gas station I had a shoot out and bullets flew by me and they hit the soda dispenser and soda started shooting out. I like little stuff like that.

The sound was great. I play in 5.1 and at the start of the game there was a dog barking and the farther I walked to less I could hear it and it was done very well. The rain was great as well as the chopper sound fx.

Over all the game was fun. If they fix the framerate problem I might end up buying this. The demo is so damn short though so I'll have to reply it and just look around and try out stuff before I hit the end point

Wow I'm gonna have to disagree about Area 51.

I just played the demo and shut it off before I finished it.

I was expecting some good graphics and a game that wasn't just a generic human/alien FPS game.

The graphics are terrible (horrible framerate + mad tearing), and the game just feels so generic. It has A LOT of aim assist (I thought that L trigger was lockon initially because when zoomed in, my cross hair just stuck to the enemy).

I dunno, it's just not my cup of tea at all and I have no intention on playing the demo again or even trying it when it comes out heh.

The Area51 demo is a steamin pile of poo..complete garbage. And I have been following the halo 3 beta stuff all day, very underwhelmed with the graphics. I dl a 720p video and streamed it to my DLP, very meh. The gameplay looked killer and the sound was awesome, but I don't see what everyone is going gaga over. I hope the single player looks at least 2-3x better.

I'm surprised to hear you say that. What resolution are you running at? 1080i here, and I got no noticable framerate or tearing issues. I think it looks fantastic. The only thing that I thought looked cheesy was the rain splatters on the gun, but even then, it's not that bad.

I also noticed the aim assist, but I could not care less when it's single player. Doesn't bother me one bit.

I don't get any tearing either (720p) and I think the game looks very good though the framerate takes a big dip sometimes. I think that'll be ironed out when the game gets released. The demo is too short though. I didn't like the aim assist either but I'm sure you will be able to turn it off.

Same crap happened to my MLB 2k7 disc. I was playing and then the game started to stutter (voices and sounds) then it froze. I took out the disc and for some reason just looked at it...then I noticed the disc had a bunch of scratches and smears! I went bananas. The game still works but I turn off lots of stuff that is read from the disc (like music) just to help things out.

Has anyone else noticed a "new" arrow in the friend's list menu? I logged on tonight to download the Crackdown content, and noticed a little curved arrow next to Chris's name while playing GRAW2. I saw it immediately, and realized I've never seen that before. I intially assumed it meant his game was joinable, and when I dove further into his gamertag, his game was indeed joinable.

Has anyone seen this before, or is this one of those small addition to the spring update that was never mentioned? If it was just added, it's a very nice addition.

I'm running 720p.

I dunno I think that since I'm so picky I'm just very keen to noticing framerate hits and tearing issues. It was very noticeable in the demo, as well as the framerate looking like a PS2 game at some points.

THe tearing wasn't as bad as it is in Saints Row, but it's like between how bad it is in Saints Row and a game w/out tearing.

That's probably the thing, then, as I'm not nearly as sensitive to frame rate issues and tearing. I'm more of an immersive gamer than seeing more of what is on the surface. The frame rate would have to hit low around 15fps before I'd notice it while playing action sequences.
