anyone else get some free XBL arcade game codes for the rewards challenge?
Xbox Rewards Announcement
Dear bucwylde23,
Thank you for your interest in Xbox Rewards. Due to technical issues, you may have experienced difficulties while trying to register for Xbox Rewards. Please accept our sincere apologies. To help make up for any inconvenience this may have caused you, we are providing you with two Xbox LIVE® Arcade games*. (Use the tokens provided at the end of this email).
blah blah blah (long email)
Joust (ESRB Rating: E)
not-giving-you-guys-my-code
Robotron (ESRB Rating: E)
not-giving-you-guys-my-code
Could have at least given GOOD games, but ah well, free is free![]()
I just noticed that I got this email too. Since MS already sent me codes to unlock those games a couple weeks ago (I forget why) I'll give them out here.
First person to PM me with the game you want will get the code. The games are Joust and Robotron. I'll give one game each to two people.
*Disclaimer - I don't know if these codes will work so don't blame me if for some reason they don't.
**EDIT - Robotron is gone. No takers on Joust...and I don't blame you....

I haven't heard bout it but I dunno, I've played it recently, and the game just can't stand the test of time.
Granted part of the reason it sucked was cause there wasn't a 2nd analog stick to aim with, but I dunno. I'd definitely give it a go though heh, cause I (as did EVERYONE) used to kick ass in that game.
Sorry to hear that. But it's really only been a year and 4 months, not nearly 2 years.Originally posted by: herkulease
after nearly 2 years, my launch 360 has died.
started out with funky colors, thought it was the cable. Got another cable and I no longer get any picture just sound. then I got the 3 red lights.
I just got graw 2 also and with Virtua Tennis 3 coming out next week I was ready to dive into those two games.
Before continuing, let us emphasize that, pending Microsoft confirmation, the information below is strictly rumor territory. However, we wouldn?t post it unless we had some good reasons for believing the info to be authentic, so here it is: the Core pack will be canceled, the Premium will drop to 299 euro, the black HDMI-supporting 360 will be launched this May, and finally Halo 3 will hit stores right before Christmas 2007. Too good to be true? Read on!
German site Xbox-Archiv, known from before to have some good sources inside MS and be quite reliable on rumormongering, posted an article today on a bunch of things that should please most Xbox fanboys. First up, they investigated a bit on why German megastores MediaMarkt and Saturn are all of a sudden selling the Xbox 360 Premium pack at 299 euro. While wholesale price is still at around 350 euro, the included games can also be sold separately. Combined with gross purchase discounts awarded for stocking lots of Xbox 360 games besides the consoles, the total wholesale price easily drops below 300, resulting in many if not all retailers now being able to offer the Premium pack at 299 euro and still make a modest profit. Even if the new price doesn?t become official, who cares if all retailers use it?
So where does that leave the 299 euro Tard Pack, also sold under the name of Core pack? Retailers that were contacted suggested that their inside information states that the HD-less crap edition is indeed end-of-life, and will only be around for a few more months until permanent cancellation. Although noone will be really regretting Microsoft finally burying the rather unfortunate Core SKU, it does leave a lot of people out there in the cold without harddisks, and it eliminates the element of choice that people had when there were 2 SKUs to choose from.
Or does it? The rumors of black 360s and HDMI-capable machines have been around for quite a while now. Xbox-Archiv states, Babelfished for your Engrish pleasure:
From reliable sources we experienced now that Microsoft plans release of a new Xbox 360 version in May 2007. The new Xbox 360 will that already admits black model to be, which has an HDMI exit and a larger non removable disk (120 GB). The price of the new Xbox 360 will lie between ?350 and ?450, an exact product name is not present, the internal code name Zephyr is rather improbable as sales designation.
(editor?s note: Babelfish translates ?festplatter? as ?non removable disk?, but it should just read ?hard disk?. there?s no indication that it?s non-detachable, nor would there be reason to)
For those unable to read proper Engrish, or German for all that matters, the summary is that a new black 360 with 120GB HD and HDMI output will hit the stores for some 400-odd euros in May this year.
Closing off the list of rumors, Xbox-Archiv also mentions that the third installment in the Xbox killer franchise pur sang, Halo 3, will definitely hit stores in November this year. Not really a big surprise, since this allows them to make the most of this year?s Holiday sales not unlike Gears of War that ?emerged? last November for good reason.
Again we must emphasize that all the stuff above is strictly rumor, until Microsoft officially confirms it or gives us the usual ?Microsoft does not comment on rumors or speculation? which usually means it?s true. However, we at Xboxic also have some deep throats in the Redmond Giant?s ranks, who suggested the Xbox team has some tricks up its sleeve for the next week, with the impending European release of arch rival PlayStation 3 on March 23rd. Putting A and B together we wouldn?t at all be surprised if an Xbox 360 pricedrop was officially announced somewhere this month, and officially making the PS3 100% more expensive rather than the current 50% is sure to get some managers at Sony HQ worried. Still, we can?t emphasize enough that all the information above is officially unconfirmed and might turn out bogus or get postponed if required.

I think the useage of the cam looks pretty good except it does take up some decent screen real estate. Those guys are piss annoying too.

Man, Gameznflix has SUCKED lately. They don't carry half of the new 360 releases that come out each week. There's no way in hell I'll go back to gamefly, so I don't have many options. What are you guys using lately?

The April edition of the Official Xbox Magazine has a feature on the five biggest games they expect to come to the Xbox 360 and that are still being kept secret. Did someone say Duke Nukem and World of Warcraft!?
You'll need to purchase a copy of the mag for the full low-down, but here's the list of games that OXM reckons will be coming to the Xbox 360.
1. World of Warcraft: Azeroth Adventures- Eight million PC gamers paid $50 to own the original World of Warcraft, plus another $15/month to play it. Now, the Xbox 360 version is expected to be its own animal, not a pared down version of the PC game. It seems Microsoft will keep dumping cash on Blizzard's (the developer) doorstep until they agree to create a custom-built-for-360 version of the game. Rumor has it that it will debut for the 2008 holiday season
2. Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic III- Developer Bioware dropped the hammer on the rest of the RPG world when it made the original Knights of the Old Republic. The game is arguably one of the best Star Wars video games and warrants a third installment in its series of follow-ups. Official Xbox Magazine has a sneaking suspicion that they are working on III, but arent letting the cat out of the bag yet as not to derail hype for other current projects.
3. Duke Nukem Forever- The 10-years-in-the-making sequel to the 1996 industry- defining hit Duke Nukem 3D can finally meet its goals now that technology is available that will help the game redefine first-person-shooter interactivity like its predecessor. Game developer 3D Realms is probably keeping it hush hush until they pin down a release date for the PC version.
4. Crimson Skies 2- The original, underdog Xbox game Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge is just popular enough to give a sequel the green light. Xbox 360 doesnt want you to know about the new game yet as a matter of timing; they need to keep some bullets in their chamber for next year.
5. Hellgate: London- This action-RPG, in which a gate to Hell has ripped open in London in 2028, is filled with massive skill customization, paper-doll character tweakage and disturbingly addictive dungeon-crawling treasure hunts. The game is possibly being kept under wraps to let it bask in the Windows limelight for awhile.

World of Warcraft would seem to be huge...but I wonder if the game wouldn't be to "saturated" as it is. People wanting the experience would have already been playing it, have mature characters in the PC counterpart...seems unlikely those same people would purchase it again for the 360. Who knows...I've never been into MMORPG's so I don't know the buyer very well.
The Duke Nukem, KOTOR III, and Helgate London would all be awesome...especially if Bioware worked on KOTOR III...that would be phenomenal. I'd also like to see Crysis put on the Xbox 360...I really think MS will put some effort (and money) into getting that pulled over as it would be a showcase title for graphics (as it is on Vista).
Man, KOTOR III is exciting me already...the first version of the game was FANTASTIC if lacking graphics wise. Looking at Mass Effect, I don't see how the graphics this time around would be anything short of amazing.

So with Live now coming to the PC, and PC and 360 accounts being interchangable, when can we see a download service similar to what's on the marketplace (with small pay-per downloads)? When will we see the PC version of the Video Marketplace (to compete with the likes of Vongo, Unbox, etc)? When will PC gamers start getting mad because companies start offering some demos of games a week earlier to paying Gold members like has been done on the 360? Just trying to make discussion guys.
Oh ya, TMNT Arcade kicks ass. I now remember why I hardly got past the first stage in the arcade when I was a kid.
