so any reviews so far on crackdown? trying to see if i want to buy it yet.
You looking for personal reviews? If so, I've put in a couple of hours, and I'm pleased with it. It plays mostly like the demo, although with a couple of odd quirks. I could be worng, but it feels like you are very weak when you start compared to how you start in the demo, but this could be by design, since the demo leveled you up quickly.
Also, there's a few quirks I've found with trying to grab onto ledges. It's a little buggy, but nothing even near close to being frustrating or a hindrance.
I like being able to access the entire world map at the very outset. The design seems pretty good so far, but I don't have any kind of good experience with it yet. Leveling up is very fun. In my two hours of play, I've found about 110 of the 500 green orbs, about 10 of the 300 "hidden" orbs, and leveled my agility twice. I've leveled my strength and firearms once, and am damned close to leveling my driving and explosives for the first time. With another hour or two of exploring, I'm positive my agility will be leveled again. The game is super easy so far on the Tough setting (the easiest), but I'd rather explore than be challenged.
Overall, the game is fantastic. I look forward to getting more time to play it in the coming days. If you played the demo, then you'll know exactly what to expect.
For those who have it, are you finding it odd that the camera doesn't recenter itself after letting go of the right analog when on foot? It just felt weird as soon as I started playing, and without downloading the demo again, I could swear the demo recentered the camera once you started running. I've gotten used to it kinda, though, although it's a bitch when you get close up with an enemy, and when the camera doesn't recenter itself, you get disoriented.
