My original two picks for the WS were the A's and the Marlins. Once the A's lost I chose the Yanks to win the AL. Now that I don't have to worry about either the Cubs or the Red Sox breaking their curses, I'm just cheering for the Marlins.

I'm looking for good, well played series going 7 games. I'd like to see the Yankees win, but beating Boston was the important thing, I'll be satisfied this postseason even if NY gets swept here (unlikely however).

lager is one of the most obnoxius guys on these boards and also a red sox fan. He spent the past week and a half declaring Boston's supposed superiority over NY and now that it's over he goes into baseball threads whining about Grady Little, the Yankees payroll, the Steinbrenner/Jeter Visa commercial and rooting for whatever team they come up against. Red Dawn (who was rooting for Boston) is one of many people sick of him and expresses such often.
