They could damage one of the bradleys, but not an m1-a1(unless the magic bb rule applies)

Not a question of can they do the job. The question is more - how America will react to the first tortured, raped, killed women in war. The significance of that happening will certainly be realized as a magnifying glass is placed over the issue. An issue that is not necessary to prove, an area that does not need to have "Equal Rights" representation.

I agree. When defending the country on our own soil, surely everbody should fight.
But when sending armed force to oversea, we can leave it to the boys and men.

Women should leave first if a ship is sinking too, no need for "Equal Rights" representation here.

I would be wary of a close range t-72 with a tungston sabot.

That would have likely taken out the crew. Also I doubt they a t-72 will ever be close enough to get a 1 shot 1 kill in this war.

Two M1 Abrams reported knocked out. Crews fine.

what division?? g/f's cousins is in one of those is the 3rd.... probably be the first group to Baghdad.

The bigger question than "what division?" is what did the Iraqis use to knock them out? Or did they just throw a track?

I would be wary of a close range t-72 with a tungston sabot.

True, but its got to get close in order to succeed... and unless the M1 has just rounded a corner in city fighting (or there is a sandstorm), it'd be hard to get close

AT mines, maybe?? Do the Iraqis have any of those that could possibly disable a MBT like the Abrams?

Didn't Bush bitch to Putin about some Russian company selling some really nasty antitank missiles that have 6000 yard range?
Kornet Anti-Tank Missile
The launcher fires Kornet missiles with tandem shaped charge HEAT warheads to defeat tanks fitted with ERA or with high explosive/incendiary (thermobaric effect) warheads, for use against bunkers, fortifications and fire emplacements. Armour penetration for the HEAT warhead is stated to be 1200 mm. Range is 5 km.
This is designed to penetrate explosive reactive armor.
How thick is M1A armor? more than 12cm?

We lost two trucks, a humvee and a bradley to RPGs. We lost a tank due to a collasping bridge. Three tanks and a truck got stuck in ditches two of the tanks we unstuck. We lost the two tanks by some kind of anti tank rounds mounted on the backs of pickup trucks. Mind you this was all in the middle of a small Iraqi town so it was sort of urban warfare, and it lasted for 24 hours. The number of men killed by ground forces was 150-300, but that doesnt include the number of Iraqis killed by Warthogs.

It was the first time we lost a M1A1 in combat. With that said their were no serious injuries.

If it isn't then I am sure one of the boys in leavenworth will do their duty.

CNN just reported wire guided missles were used to destroy the two tanks, no casualties. Earlier they reported that RPG's would simply bounce off the tank, and the people inside probably wouldn't even notice.

Man I just can't imagine and begin to imagine the grins on our soldiers faces as they blow away those bastards. Revenge is the sweetest joy next to getting pussy.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I doubt they get much pleasure in killing....
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You don't think after getting shot at by them that they would enjoy shooting them? It's do or die out there!!!

Dude, are you sick in your head or just some sort of Nazi? I should hope that none of these soldiers "enjoy" killing other human beings...

Nope we had some damaged by anti-tank mines, but they were repaired. We lost these tanks because they were shot in the rear at fairly close range.

Also from the same 24 hour firefight

At one point, the squadron commander's driver, Pfc. Randall Duke Newcomb, had to steer his Humvee with one hand and his knees while firing out the window.

Personally, I think he was defining killing as "eliminating the enemy". I don't think he meant they like to "kill other humans" <--> those other humans are the enemy who will kill or be killed..

Women have been tortured, raped, and killed in the name of warfare for eons. Why deny women the right to defend their country to PREVENT such assaults on humanity? Cultural predilections aside, Korean women faced with the idea of being comfort:disgust: for invading Japanese should be no more discouraged from taking arms AND attitude to Japan . . . than they should be encouraged to defend their homes from Japanese invaders.

In the same way we should respect people who chose not to fight, we should defend everyone's legitimate RIGHTS to self determination and self defense . . . regardless of their chromosome status.
