Fall back, man (for now)! No booty is against the Geneva convention for POM's (Prisoner's of Marraige) I thought? :)

The UN food for oil program has grown to employ THOUSANDS of workers and contributed over a half billion to the UN in "commissions" last year alone, they are essentially Saddam's dealer/broker. In their rush to continue handling all of this and secure their $$$$ they are wasting time with meetings and delaying contributing humanitarian aid. Thankfully the American forces had humanitarian aid on trucks in Kuwait and are already distributing, the British have ships ready to come to port and unload, with many more US ships right behind. Let the UN have more meetings to ensure they still get paid, we will make sure the Iraqi people get fed and proper medical attention. We are used to taking action while they have more meetings trying to protect their financial interests.....

will be attemping a pre-emptive strike at securing said booty commencing in 60 seconds, contemplating a false surrender to gain an advantage...

After securing the booty, be sure to use some chemical warfare of your own to teach her a lesson!

conclusive evidence linking Iraq to terrorists, even Al-queda in new thread, great interview....

this is a must read morph....

Yeah it's soooo conclusive. It's just a story from another bitter Iraqi expat. I'm not saying whether it's true or not, but there's no evidence so it has to be taken with a grain of salt.

Well there is a plane on the ground where he describes. Iraq officials claim it is for anti-terror activities....

Also, the troops loyal to Saddam are forcing Iraqi men to fight or they'll execute their children and hanging Iraqi women who waves to coalition troops. Sad.

Could you post a link to that information please - I have not yet seen it (though I can believe it).

so how many civilians has Saddam killed this time so far? Any reliable reports?

As sad as this all is, it should at least give the Iraqi people one last reminder of how twisted their "leader" WAS....

The French and German governments informed the Turkish opposition parties that if they voted to help the Coalition war effort, Turkey would be locked out of Europe for a generation. As one Turkish leader put it, "there were no promises, only threats."

One can describe this behavior on the part of our erstwhile Old Europe allies only as a deliberate act of sabotage against America in time of war.

Heard on NBC News this morning that the Pentagon thinks the blast in that market was from Iraqi AA fire. The crater and damage does not match that of a U.S. missile strike.

U.S. coalition forces continued to face greater opposition than had been expected as the war moved into its second week. A Washington Post article Thursday cited U.S. military officers as saying that despite the swift advance of the forces over the last week, the war is likely to stretch out for months and require far more troops and combat power than is currently on hand in the region.

Just to reinforce this point regarding the two explosions in an Iraqi market.....
NYT- 3/27/03 Sec. B3
"The facts that were beyond contest were these: two craters, one larger than the other, and neither more than a fraction as deep as the 50-foot quarries dug by the largest American bombs to have fallen here in the last week, lay to either side of a suburban roadway leading north out of Baghdad toward Kirkuk."

Paraphrasing the press conference:

Bush: Coalition forces are advancing day by day...slowly, the grip of terror around the throats of Iraqi people is being loosened. Engaging the dictator's most hardened forces. Iraq will be disarmed and regime ended. Prepared to deliver humanitarian aid on a large scale. Asking UN to resume the Oil for Food program. Committed to helping them over the long-term. The form of this new gov't will be chosen by the Iraqi people...not imposed by outsiders. I see hope, as does PM Blair, to bring hope to the entire middle east.

Blair: Alliance between Americ and Great Britain has never been in better shape. Offering condolensces to those who have fallen. Saddam will be removed from power. Iraq will be disarmed of WMD and the people will be free. That is our commitment. Less than a week we've taken and controlled the southern ports. Forces within 50miles of Baghdad...surrounded Basra. Saddam shows daily he's prepared to kill his own people. Restarting the Oil for Food program later today w/Kofi Anan...this is urgent. Seek UNSC resolution to confirm Iraq's territory. Supporting a new Palestinian state as soon as a new Palestinian leader is chosen (elected?...didn't catch the term). Goal is to have a government representative of the people of Iraq.

Well, did you guys see the videos of the Iraqi's trying to frantically fill in the small craters in that marketplace. My father made the comment that if these were American bombs, then why would the Iraqi's want to fill in the craters so quickly without trying to show any pictures of bomb fragments with made in USA or USA markings on them. I just thought it was humorous when I saw the footage though, they were determined to get it filled in.
