Another story you won't see much mention of:

No trace of recent weapons work at plant.

US military investigators have found no evidence that chemical weapons have been made in recent years at a suspect chemical plant secured by US troops in southern Iraq, a senior defense official said yesterday.

How come every one of your posts seems to have an anti-US slant to it? The individual posts all differ, but the anti-US theme remains common.

He's just clearing up an issue. Doesn't mean it's "anti-US".

Go read the last three pages and look at what he posted. Kthxbye.

I knew this a long time ago. But why were soldiers at a so-called abandoned factory? Why was it hidden to the air? It sure wasn't a Mark K cosmetics factory.

Potential HQ? Who knows, but if no evidence of Chem weapons for "years" has been found, that certainly doesn't offer any support for a current Chem Weapons program.

Doesn't matter what else he's said(I've likely read it, but I don't recall what it is), this particular post is very informative and lays to rest the Chem Weapons plant controversy as well as some offshoots of this plants initial discovery.

Splendid, but do we really need somebody posting "Haven't found anything yet" every five minutes? That's kinda obvious, to most of us at least, since there's no news of anything being found yet. He's posting just to try to make our operations there look unjustified.

Actually, from my perspective, we could view this as evidence that our government is being (and will be) honest. There are some people out there that think the US will manufacture evidence against Iraq.

In regards to the convoy (not the one from Basra), does anyone else think that this may be the first time someone has intentionally bypassed the Army to fight against the USMC? If any of the convoy survives the air strikes, I think the Marines may take this as a attempted blow to their pride, and respond accordingly :D

Don't want to start anything, but shouldn't incorrect info be corrected even if that info goes against what you(or others) construe as "Pro-" to your(or others) position. Hate him or love him, I don't care, just don't dismiss the info because of it.

If he was pestering/nagging/yaddaya, I can understand your position. I too became quite pissed at someone recently for doing the same.

CNN is now reporting that there was no column coming south. "Bad inteligence" said a senior official.

However, CNN, FOX, MSNBC, and the BBC all have been reporting that the column exists (and some still are).

Does the fact that Saddam himself admitted having them count? He was also supposed to provide proof they were destroyed. If he could this wouldn't be happening, if he did the inspections would be over, the sanctions lifted, and he would remain in power. You suggest he destroyed his admitted stockpiles of WMD, then failed to save the only evidence that would save his butt? Why can't he point to the sites they were destroyed? I doubt we will find many WMD until the conflict is over, rest assured it has been gathered and prepared for use....

Clearing up what issue? Nobody said they'd found anything, so repeating that fact serves no purpose.

News update: Republicans still control Congress and the White House. Just clearing that up. You're welcome.

Excuse me. The other day this story was all over the place that a "chemical warfare plant" had been found. The FOX news site headline called it just that, "chemical warfare plant". Many of you in this very thread were gloating about this "proof" of Saddam's WMD. Since then I've heard hardly anything about it, I only saw a little article buried deep in the newspaper today telling the real story. I'm just making sure that all the facts get out, not just the ones that the propaganda machine chooses to highlight.

Has our administration said anything about this? I wonder, if it's conclusive evidence why hasn't any of the media outlets picked it up or any high ranking officials said anything about it? You'd think that President Bush would jump at a chance to tell the people about a conclusive link. Wouldn't you?

"In this translated interview, conducted in association with The New York Times on Oct. 14, 2001, Khodada describes what went on at Salman Pak, including details on training hijackers. He emigrated to the U.S. in May 2001. (Editor's Note: Although U.S. officials acknowledge terrorists were trained at Salman Pak, they say it is unlikely that these activities were related to the Sept. 11 attacks. It should also be noted that the two defectors interviewed for this report have been brought to FRONTLINE's attention by members of the Iraqi National Congress (INC), a dissident organization seeking to overthrow Saddam Hussein.)"

still a known training camp....

Yeah it's soooo conclusive. It's just a story from another bitter Iraqi expat. I'm not saying whether it's true or not, but there's no evidence so it has to be taken with a grain of salt.

some real war updates would be nice, my position came under serious attack and my control over the video media has been lost, efforts at negotiations have failed, there is talk of sanctions and boycots (no booty for me) should I not comply...
