The way England have been playing they could win the tourney.

I agree. Ericsson has done a great job and their presence till now is really good. They are showing character and I believe that they have great potential. Now, if Owen finds the way for the net they have more changes. He's doing of course more dirty work with his assists (somethin unusual for a player like Owen) but they 'll definately need his scoring. Lampard is amazing.
Don´t think so, the english players are just not good enough... IMO.

I haven't seen any other teams in the tournament who could claim to be a lot better than England - now they're through to the knockout stages they have a very good chance of winning the tournament. Their first eleven stands comparison with most other European countries on a player by player basis

I don't think anyone stands out as a clear favorite just yet. England look shaky on set pieces and just in general at the backline. France look shaky on defense too and even their offense is looking like "Zidane and pray for rain". Portugal barely got through as the hosts, Greece did well early, but still lost to Russia. Sweden have looked good in general, but hardly have looked dominant. It's tough to pick someone right now.

You know I feel kinda weird. From the one side I feel so happy for my country, but on the other I feel such dissapointment and anger for Holland's situation.
I luv and support Holland almost as much as my country and I have vast amounts of tapes with history and matches of dutch soccer.
I hope Holland qualify and stand next to my country to the QF. Let's hope bro for the sake of beautiful soccer

Exactly how I feel about France.

I have no personal connection with them, but I cheer them because I'm a Zidane fanboy and a pure Gunner at heart. :D

The most solid teams so far imo are in Group C and Group D: Sweden, Czech Republic and Denmark. (in that order)

Crap. I wanna watch the Scandinavian derby!!! But they are showing the Italy game first, then Sweden vs. Denmark delayed.

Alright. See y'all in 4 hrs. :D

England sucks! There all hype.
David has just style to offer. I haven't seen him win a game for his side fro quite some time now.
Owen is just a normal player nothing special. I wanted Croatia to kick their asses but they got their butt kicked instead. lol.
I always like the underdogs.
Anyway I think France is gonna win it all. Go ... Zidane ......score........a .............Goal !

I think France are more hype than England - where has their all-conquering attacking style gone now? As previously mentioned they are heavily reliant on Zidane. They can consider themselves lucky to have qualified as they could/should have lost to England and Croatia - as well as making heavy weather of Switzerland last night.

I remember back in World Cup 2002, France team was talking big and all. Trezeguet and Henry was saying how they each will challenge each other at scoring goals. Look what happened.

I agree, France has really good players like Henry, Zidane, Pires, Viera. They have a strong midfield and offense. However, their defense, looks shaky this time around.

"45'+1 Martin Petrov (Bulgaria) is shown a yellow card. The goalscorer is cautioned for excessive celebrations."

LOL, I just have to see that :)

That's like "excessive happiness" from Patch Adams :) Have to see it too. 1-1 now, BTW.

I can't believe you guys question tottis class when you obviously have none, cassano had another amazing game, with a brilliant goal. A comment like that shows you aren't a soccer fan, just another mule that follows the crowd, like the rest of the sheep who hate Italy for the only reason that its the popular thing to do these days. Italy did what they had to do this game, they just got unlucky with the other match, thats the way things go. I'm sure you soccer geniuses will jump on another teams bandwagon to hate soon enough.

Even though I hate Italy I feel that this "nordic conspiracy" is unethical. Nobody wants his team to be disqualified that way. Nice game though

I don't like rubbing losses in, but Jesus that was sweet.

I don't hate Italy at all, they play fun football and Buffon is a really great goalkeeper, and I can't really understand why so many people severely dislike Totti at the moment, but I still feel like saying 'tsk tsk tsk'.. :)

Erm yeah Totti has a lot of "class" spitting at someone...

Oh and we hate Italy because all they ever do is cheat and whine, nothing is ever their fault it's always other teams and officials conspiring to get them eliminated. They never own up to the fact that they're just not that good as a team there's too many individuals.

/me smells sour grapes :)

It's not the team, it's the fans.
