Because he spit a player and he's an arrogant prick?

Hmmm yes because it was so obvious they conspired to draw 2-2

Moron there is no conspiracy

Well $martass of course this is a possibility, but:

1. Both are from the North
2. Nobody loses and they both advance
3. A score like 2-2 is what both needed, and not an everyday score

I suspect respect is not a word in your voculabrary

1. Both countries teams have a fierce rivalry as a result of their proximity
2. True, but almost impossible to arrange
3. In Football, there is no such thing as an everyday score

1. Like in Eurovision?
2. Why is that impossible. You just show a possible scenario on your screen
3. Yes but 2-2 on a game that with 2-2 both teams advance?

Cmon man... I hate Italians too, and I'm really happy they disqualified but not that way...

1. In Eurovision? bahahahahahaha, someone HAD to bring that up lol
2. Dude, did you see the game? :)
3. Concidence and if you've seen the game, you know for sure :)

1. Yes this is true, like us with Cypriots. And I ask you. If you had the change to let Italy outside and arrange the game in a way that, no matter what you advance, wouldn't you be tempted to do it?
BTW did you see the "NORDIC VICTORY" on supporters hands?
2. Of course, so what?
3. So coincidence is a much more possible scenario than a fixed game?

Let's get this straight. and I won't resort to name calling. Firstly the game is called Football, ok? I have never disputed Cassano's ability or his great goal but it was funny to watch as events unfolded. Perhaps if you could actually read and comprehend the previous threads you would see that I don't like Italy's cynical, defensive way if playing.

Just to be sure you get it, Italy play defensive, cynical football and don't deserve jack as a result.
Haha, firstly the game is called football, great game analysis. Yeah those Italians, looked real defensive the past two games, but you and you're great knowledge of football surely picked that up, right. Please.
Um, well as Italy went out for not scoring enough then that looks pretty conclusive to me. However, I'm sure your awesome intellect and football analysis will convince you otherwise
I'm pretty much convinced you haven't watch the last two games. Italy out shot sweden and bulgaria 40-20, but of course the only thing you can see from a game is the goals scored, good job.

2. It didn't looked staged at all, as said before, TOO many factors can influence a game. Was the Ref also in the conspiracy?
3. Yes, I think it was.

But dude, let's just hope that Holland advances :D

Oh, and as covered in a previous post (by myself of course: Suckholes)

I mean really... how can you not know your boots aren't as comfortable... I think the world is sick of listening to Italian whining and BS about how this team cheated, or this official doesn't like them, are that the other match was rigged... Christ... this from a country the enjoys the "mafioso image"?!?! And that's to say nothing of Totti's challenge at the end of their first match... He's a bloody disgrace to football... but a hero to the bloody arrogant pricks who inhabit that spit o'land...

Cheers to Italy for doing what everyone knew they would do, way to live up to expectations...

Arrogant but gooood, and while spitting is indeed bad, several other kinds of tolerated 'attacks' exist.

Such as?

Anything the ref doesn't see? Use your imagination..a hidden elbow, a clever shove, verbal abuse..many things can make a player very pissed.

It's football many thgz happen. You have to remain a pro, that's why you're paid the big bucks. And with such a player it's much more obvious and bad. I'm happy that players can be punished through video nowdays. Referee didn't see him in the first place.

Sorry to disappoint you but I watched the Italy v Sweden game and while Italy played well first half they retreated as usual second half to protect a 1-0 lead.

Italy may have outshot Sweden and Bulgaria (most teams should be outshooting Bulgaria at least) but it's putting the ball in the net that counts. Italy need to change their mindset and not be so defensive.

And at the risk of repeating myself (again), Italy has NEVER scored more then 2 goals in a Euro match... EVER! So tell me who doesn't play defensive football... but, yet again, it's not Italy's fault... it's everyone else's...

I agree it is very strategically important to keep your cool, but so many small things happen that I am not surprised someone spits every once in a while.

1.I said it before man. I'M HAPPY that Italy disqualified I hate the arrogant pricks, it's just that I don't like to see this happening. Holland was disqualified in the past in such a way, this is a vicious circle if we let this happen again and again.
2. The purpose of the crime is to remain unsolved....

But enough with Italy. GO HOOOOOOOOOOLAAAAAAAAAAAAND!!! RUUD RUUD RUUD RUUD!!!!

Seems like there're lots of dark horses and upsets in this tournament. So who's gonna make the cut tomorrow, Germany or Holland?

It pisses me off that Germans with a win against the Czechs, advance no matter what.
And the Czechs may leave some players outside that have been shown yellow cards or just to rest, because they have advanced already.
I hope they play as they did against Holland.

Wonder which piece of equipment they'll blame... won't be their codpiece, as it' not as if they had anything to protect.... Valiant effort at the end though.. Perhaps this will the convince the Italian Football Association to train their players to actually score VS having a tea party in the penalty area..... Nver having scored more then two goals in any Euor match, makes it difficult to swallow when you face elimination by goal differential...

Despite the 2-2 score, I thought the Denmark/Sweden game was a little boring, as both were playing a bit cautious...

What game have you watched? Denmark could have scored to 3-1 on several occasions. I would have liked Denmark to win so we could avoid the Czech, but it's still more fun to se Italy leave :)

They should have played more offensive if they were to continue, they did not so......tough tittie :p

2. Both teams would like to avoid the Czechs, and advance further
3. Denmark could on several ocasions have made to 3-1.

Only the last minutes was clearly just drawing the time, but no-one wanted to risk anything at that time.

It was a decent match, don't get me wrong... it just seemed very methodical... granted, I was switching between games, so maybe I missed some of the good stuff..

If Italy were to blame one player for their exit, it's Christian Vieri. Far too many clear chances he missed. I have no idea why Trapattoni kept insisting on Vieri because if I recall from the friendlies, Di Vaio and Miccoli (not sure why he's not part of the squad - is he injured?)were awesome up front.

Totti contributed to the negative image of Italy with the spitting incident, but he did receive a bit too much attention to himself because a Swiss player also faced a spitting charge.

Antonio Cassano and Gianluigi Buffon are my two favourite Italian players, so I felt sorry for them. I did not watch Sweden vs. Denmark until later but I knew that the result was a draw from the expression of Cassano's disappointment after scoring the winning goal.

Cassano also deserved that penalty which could have tied them with Denmark (no idea who advances in this scenario). Shame on the Russian ref for not calling what appeared to be a clear tackle inside the penalty box.

Italy and the Italian fans should really stop the whining about the weather, shoe size, and blisters and simply look into their missed chances. I lost count how many times Vieri missed his headers. And the coach should have known better and replace the striker (with all due respect ot Vieri) who was obviously not performing to his usual high standard.

But I'll admit that I did want to see a Denmark-Sweden draw because I loved to watch them play so far in the tournament. I am especially becoming a Denmark fan now. :D

So it will be Denmark vs. Czech and hopefully Sweden vs. Holland. ;)

Oh yeah. Kudos to Sweden and Denmark for an entertaining clash despite their knowing that a draw was enough to put them through. (excluding the last 2 minutes, of course ;))

We could argue on this all night and quite frankly I don't give a fvck about Italy.
I agree that all these may be pure speculations, and it's bad to judge someone without evidence.
It's just that everything seemed so well directed, and I wouldn't want something like that to be the case.

While a conspiracy is possible, it's highly unlikely. The result accurately reflects both side's play in the tournament, and in particular, that match.

Yeah.

If there is any conspiracy, it happened in 91st minute when both teams learned that 2-2 will advance them both to the quarterfinals.

The Danes certainly couldn't just sit back and go for a tie of any lower score, knowing that the Italians could potentially knock them out.

If there is any possible conspiracy, I say it's Vieri's missed chances. He didn't play like himself at all.

Don't worry. I already called and talked to both teams, and they agreed to play 1-1, so Netherlands (not Holland) will advance :D
