Follow up - of course Trump wasn't the first one to require loyalist in the govt it was preceded by...:
--
Hitler opened the meeting by boasting that millions of Germans had welcomed his chancellorship with “jubilation,” then outlined his plans for expunging key government officials and filling their positions with loyalists. At this point he turned to his main agenda item: the empowering law that, he argued, would give him the time (four years, according to the stipulations laid out in the draft of the law) and the authority necessary to make good on his campaign promises to revive the economy, reduce unemployment, increase military spending, withdraw from international treaty obligations, purge the country of foreigners he claimed were “poisoning” the blood of the nation, and exact revenge on political opponents. “Heads will roll in the sand,” Hitler had vowed at one rally.

And if you are a civil servant and not proven to be a trump loyalist you are out; not enough to be merely neutral...

Can you answer "yes, I'm loyal to the office of the president and to the constitution of the United States".

It's not just *that* .. suppose that by some miracle dems figure out how to take the WH back in 2028 - then there is ONLY going to be Trump loyalists in these institutions. That's fucked up. Essentially killing the institution.

Right. They'd have to do the same purge in order to get anything accomplished.

It's things like this that make me think it's really already over except for the details.

I saw an article that trump plans to bring grocery prices down by lowering energy prices through increased oil production and then the savings will trickle down, you can't make this stupid shit up. How many decades are we on now of republicans telling us trickle down is a thing? It's never worked but morons still think republicans are better economically.

Funny thing is I've seen this idea being tossed around by right wingers on the internet since trump was elected, so he obviously read the idea off of some social media platform. Hell, someone on here posted this same idea verbatim in one of the election threads, you see this all the time with right wingers where they found something they think sounds smart so they copy paste it everywhere, kinda like the whole, "We're a republic not a democracy" thing.

Never mind the fact that we're producing more oil than ever and there are tons of unused leases so oil companies are not going to drill more, and even if we did manage to bring energy prices down companies would just pocket the extra profit. Somehow though, people are stupid enough to believe this, even after 40 odd years of trickle down never working.

Yea he made that comment pre election

Post election he gave an interview and he back peddled on it

Didn't know where else to put this but Merrick Garland is still a fucking idiot. He didn't move to release the findings into the classified documents case cuz there's still two cases pending against Trump fuckers. But come on you know the Trump doj is going to just drop those cases so you should have dropped them, and released that fucking report too.

Merrick Garland was just a massively massive Joe Biden fuck up.

My wife was just on a work call with one State Dept agency and was told that their senior employees will need to be working in office on 12:01PM January 20 (a Federal holiday) in order to execute “over 100” Executive Orders that will take effect at that time.

So he hasn’t even taken office yet and he’s already shitting on MLK Day.

Yep this is probably the worst pick for AG in our lifetime. The fact trump wasn't locked up behind bars after they found classified documents in his hotel is egregious.

I really think that no matter what prediction is made (by anyone), it's going to be several orders of magnitude worse than anyone really expected. We're already seeing completely batshit things like annexing Greenland/Canada and similar before he even takes office. Meanwhile, you've got the worlds leading Ketamine consumer talking shit to foreign leaders on his personal ego-maintenance web site.
You'd be hard pressed to think of a worse outcome than the one I "predicted" in the conspiracy thread.

Yes, MAGA has every intention of purging the government of anyone who is a civil servant and not a loyal sycophant.
This is how you become Russia. By replacing competence with yes-men who will desperately fake numbers to grab daddy Putin's favor.
When that corruption becomes deeply seeded, people start falling out of windows. And human rights cease to exist at any meaningful level.

You'll have to refresh my memory then.
Let's get crazy:

Putin essentially has full control of the US government through his Republican puppets. As they take over and suspend Democracy stateside, he covertly relocates here. He then nukes China and Europe, and China reciprocates by nuking Russia. With all major world powers wiped out he uses his control over the US military (who have been sitting it out on the sidelines) to mop up and take control of everything.

This is how it's going to go.

On day one there will be a meeting with all the top generals and military advisors. Everyone that can be replaced with thoroughly vetted sycophants will be replaced.

Any that have not already been vetted and can't just be replaced will be taken one by one into a room with a detained undocumented citizen and their small child or baby. The room will have video monitoring from many different angles but curiously no audio recording.

Someone will negotiate via speakerphone to the person being vetted. Shoot the child, and then the parent, and you pass the test. You are one of us, and oh by the way we have you on video executing innocent people. If you ever decide to even think about stepping out of line, we release the video to the public, have a swift military trial and off to Guantanamo with you forever.

Refuse to execute them, you resign/retire or get fired, and if you ever go to the press with any of this we kill your family with a gas leak or something similar.

They work their way down the ranks and once they pass a certain level of brass the consequences for not complying change. "Good for you! You didn't choose violence. You passed the test! We knew you were one of the good ones. We're reassigning you to a special division."

Once they've gone through all the ranks, the "special division" is sent to the front lines of Russia to help fight the Nazis in Ukraine. Oh dear, the entire division was wiped out, guess we'll have to leave NATO and throw the full might of the US military behind Russia. They'll totally stop at Ukraine though. Wink wink.

What's that? China is taking over most of Asia, the Saudis and Israelis are divying up Africa and the ME, and Brazil is absorbing South America? That's really troubling, but we're really busy now with Nazis who have managed to spread all the way to the British Isles. We can "talk" about those other problems later.

That was Part 1: Foreign Policy. Now for Part 2: Domestic Policy.

Would be really difficult to subjugate the entire nation, right? Wrong. The Trump Healthcare Plan is finally unveiled. He nationalizes the entire healthcare industry including big pharma. Everyone gets free healthcare for life in exchange for one condition: swear fealty to Trump and the GOP. Accept and you get a healthcare ID. Refuse and you don't get the ID and you can no longer get healthcare anywhere in the US. Ever step out of line and you lose your ID. Really, how many Americans are going to resist and risk losing access to any healthcare for themselves and their families?

Done and done.

How can they take effect at that time, as he has to sign them AFTER he is sworn in. Is he going to stop the innogeration to sign over 100 executive orders?

Tariff Man once again claims that foreign nations/companies pay tariffs and not American importers (who pass along the cost).

We're gonna get some wild stuff lol.

He's so desperate to refinance his debt load with lower interest rates that he's willing to tank the economy to get it? /s

I suppose if you need an appliance or an expensive gadget, that's manufactured in China, NOW is the time to go out and get it LOL.

Bond market doesn't like what it sees and has been headed in the opposite direction of the discount rate. If they see giant risk the fed can cut to zero and it won't matter.

Very impressive that all revenue is going to come from external sources!

Even without considering spending US federal revenues were about $4.5 trillion. The total value of US imports was a bit below $4 trillion, meaning to meet these goals we will require a tariff rate of over 100%. Hope you guys got those laptops ahead of time!

I expect (and I REALLY hope I'm right) that he's going to try some of this shit, see the markets freak out, and massively pare it back and then lie and declare victory.

If he actually tries to go through with this it's going to be a global economic calamity.

Probably the most realistic best case scenario.

Obviously the REAL best case would be for him to not try any of his stupid plans, but we all know that's not gonna fucking happen.
