And what are the "shitty food and environmental toxins" that need to be dealt with?

- RFK isn't the worst choice if he stops direct marketing by pharma to consumer and while it will probably have some rough consequences for food deserts eliminating SNAP purchases of processed garbage.

Admittedly, those are both items I can broadly get behind from a 10,000 foot level.

Now what will happen in actuality in terms of execution and regulatory capture is going to come out the other end looking very different.

If that was true there would be no vaccine development.
I'm not saying that there's no money in vaccine development! Also governments subsidise that stuff because most governments realise that a healthy disease free population is a good thing!

I predict that Matt Gaetz will not pass Senate confirmation. If so, he will be out of government and a rift will exist in the republican party.

This is probably the easiest nom to dispose of because most of Congress, and especially R senators, hate his guts.

I don't necessarily have a problem with direct marketing. I don't think doctors are as informed as people might think they are (and doctors and whatnot watch TV and read), disease awareness campaigns are important for conditions not previously treatable, and part of it is empowering patients to learn about therapy options for their conditions.

Fortunately, there are companies that specialize separately in each area (vaccines vs. treating diseases) to compete with the conglomerates that do both to keep them a bit less dishonest.
