What private army? Meal Team 6 and the January 6ers are largely a bunch of degenerate criminals and are a relatively small group. At the start of Hitler's reign, his SA had hundreds of thousands.
Remember the NRA. Give enough power to become like the IRGC and the chaos is done.

Upvote, because that's a legit point, that can be objectively measured (the actual numbers of SA types), and I'm in a state of uncertainty about the whole thing - I keep wavering between knowing I have a tendency to catastrophize about these things, and being aware of how complacent so many people were the last time round (the 1930s).

Still think the risk is more of Trump incrementally eroding democracy, with a ratchet-like effect that's hard to roll back. And combined with doing further damage to people's economic state, this might just be the first step in a longer process.

I mean, my biggest concern is Trump drumming up his republican base by blaming the 'other half' for all their problems. Yeah not every 70m of them will point a rifle at their neighbor, but if 1% of them does that's still 700k people.

That is the issue. Despite does not look big, if they are mad enough, the situation will end into a very nasty situation.
And considering if Putin helps them... it won't bode well.

This is America where the liberals are armed too, and if they’re not they should be. Pretty damn cheap insurance to make sure the nutjobs aren’t the only ones in the country who know how to operate a firearm.

I can arm my entire condo building though it might look more like the Battle of the Bulge instead of Blackhawk Down.

Oh I agree, but that depends on a) the firearms remaining legal and b) people being willing to use them. It's far more preferable to not have a private army at Trump's disposal to begin with.

Has a few curses so NSFW, but holy shit this guy's videos parodying MAGAs are epic. Hilariously on a few there are MAGAs replying in support not understand what so ever that he's not a MAGA and he's actually clowning them lol.

I just heard a tip from “someone who knows someone” at OPM who said that one of the criteria the Administration is considering for who gets cut (post-buyout phase) is party registration. They are literally looking to fire government workers for registering as Democrats.

Supposedly this is not a “protected class” for any type of employment like race, sex, age etc.—public workers are supposed to be protected from this somewhat (as long as political activity/speech occurs outside work) but it seems that’s a fight the DoJ is willing to have. https://www.shrm.org/topics-tools/employment-law-compliance/fired-political-affiliation-activity

Please tell anyone you know to register as Independent or Unaffiliated.

That's interesting because during his last term, Trump signed an EO requiring federal agencies to treat political affiliation as a protected class. Of course, at that time he was concerned that Republicans were being unfairly treated.

registering as an independent may be a temporary solution to not being fired, however, once Trump caught on to such tactics, he would have them fire independents as well, or put inplace that only registered republican's are acceptable. Also, in many states, registered independents can't vote in the primaries.

Prediction. Trump will try to order the Bureau of Labor Statistics NOT to release the inflation report with the next 2 months. Lucky for the public it is required by law.

Laws haven't stopped Trump so he may fire the current commissioner.

He has both federal and state charges that he's serving "concurrently" . I don't see what they could possibly gain, he'll just move to a state prison.

PR stunt that plays to the racist chucklefuck segment of their cult that is in constant victimhood mode. You know, the ever oppressed and under privileged white male segment of the population.

i predict some shit will go down if they do this

also those where state charges and not federal so i dunno how they plan on doing that...
Trump can't pardon that piece of shit for anything other than federal crimes which are civil rights violations, he can't do shit about his conviction at the state level for murdering Floyd. So pardoning him for his federal charges will just be a shitty and discusting, symbolic move, and not get him out of jail.
