There was a policy that ancient Rome had, they mandated integration between citizens. There was no 'China Town' (so to speak) because it wasn't permitted. It's one of the reasons that city became the center of a vast percentage of the old world for a millennia.

So on further reading, I think I was mistaken on the mandatory part. They had a more organic approach through 'romanization' which essentially encouraged assimilation rather than mandating it. There were still ethnic enclaves among primarily immigrants, but being a *Roman* was usually more attractive than wherever they came from.

We shouldn't need DEI in the 1st place, the same with Affirmative Action. But we live in a country where a lot of companies would hire a Donald Trump over a Barrack Obama simply because of color. To me it's wild there are bosses who could have both apply and still pick Trump over Obama just to not hire a black person.

Yes of course we have DEI because of assholes. I read about an interesting case where the attorney general sued a judge for blocking pay raises to FEMALE clerks. My initial thought was what a waste of resources because you have an old man who feels that the proper place for a woman is at home making babies. That's life we waste a *lot* of resources over stupidity. Of course i'm waiting for musk and trump to steal trillion and then call it 'official' duty.

Thought they were just an advisory committee with no executive/legislative powers. Have they really captured the treasury and have control of it??

The “Radical Left Media” has been talking about it for years. The corruption of the ANC under Zuma and their piss poor efforts at “land reform”, organized gangs terrorizing and killing landowners, all that is old news. Ramaphosa only won election by promising expropriation without compensation, but guess what? South Africa has a court system, and there are plenty of legal challenges underway. Trump can use sanctions all he wants without killing the rest of the aid apparatus, but Trump’s gonna Trump.
