I'm really looking forward to the GTR/bullet train race. Unfortunately there haven't been a ton of recent car introductions that would be interesting to see tested. I'd like to see full tests of the GTR, the ZR1, the Gallardo LP560-4, the Ferrari California, the SSC Aero, the new Focus RS, and . . . hmmm, can't think of any others off the top of my head. Oh, they still need to send the Veyron around the track. Obviously there are a lot of tuner cars they've never featured that would be interesting, including various Rufs and that crazy 9ff.

Boy, I think tonight's TG might be the weakest episode I've ever seen. As with the police car challenge a couple of weeks ago, they edited the Alfa challenge in such a way that it seemed really obviously fake, and also not that funny. Very disappointing.

Did they ever test the Gemballa Mirage GT (Carrera GT)? I know they had it on D-Motor but I can't understand a lick of German.

No Stig in this episode. The best part I liked was the way Clark burned the rubber on that Bentley.

How come they never show you what Clarkson is showing the studio audience? Must be some really dirty stuff. But I wanna see!

Yeah, too bad they didn't let Stig do a run w/ the Brooklyns. That cost and workmanship of that car is crazy!

Ps. LMAO at the guys blocking the whole field w/ their alfas.

another ehh....episode for Top Gear. The Alfa looked amazing till you found out it sucks at driving. The race was kinda boring. The GTR didn't amaze me.

Yeah, I was disappointed. So far this season just doesn't have that TG spark. I wonder if they lost a key producer or something, because they just don't seem to be firing on all cylinders. It seemed like Jeremy really didn't care about the GTR, but in any case the race was edited in such a way that it just wasn't that funny or entertaining. The C8 was a real disappointment - I found it amazing it was THAT slow.

I know they said that they make the races so it's competitive but the route they took on the train was ridiculous. I agree this season has been meh, but the newscasters this ep were great (and hot). I also agree with Don Vito, it really seems like they lost a writer or segment editor or something. I mean compare this to the veyron bullet train race.. it was just a huge difference.

i've been on the bullet train in Japan and it does run from Kyoto to Tokyo. That route made sense to me.

I don't remember a veyron bullet train race, i remember a veyron vs airplane race.

james and hamster were in an airplane until james had to land because he doesn't have a night license. i'm not sure how planned that was.


wow, japan wanted to build a tunnel under the sea of japan to korea so that they could built bullet train service to beijing :shocked:

(of course, those plans were abandoned once the US kicked japan's butt in wwii)

Oh I know it runs from Kyoto to Tokyo, but coming from where they were, they could have gone straight south/southeastish to Tokyo instead of going all the way back to Kyoto. I took the same route back when I went to Tateyama earlier this year: http://www.japan-guide.com/g5/7550_02.gif and going thru Matsumoto it took about 2 hours to get back (and it was a gorgeous ride too). Going this way I doubt it would have been even close.

I was also mistaken about the bullet train/veyron race (it was airplane) but it still was better than this one was.

This week's show was much better though. The GTR is amazing, and that girl behind Hammond during the news :lips::heart:
