From you link:

Swiftboat Veterans for Truth sent a letter to Sen. John Kerry yesterday promising that if he apologizes for his conduct after returning from Vietnam and resolves questions about his war record, its media campaign will be called off.

So in a nutshell, apologize for what you did when you came home and we will quit telling lies about your service record. ESAD

Got it.

How classy of the Swift Boat Liars. It appears that all of the 308 vets that "signed" a letter to Kerry didn't exactly support the Swift Liars:
Link
COLUMBUS - Swift boat veteran Bob Anderson of Columbus is ticked.

It bothers him that Sen. John Kerry's swift boat history has become such a political hot potato. But he's even more irritated that his name was included - without his permission - on a letter used to discredit Kerry.

"I'm pretty nonpolitical," the 56-year-old Anderson said Tuesday. So, when he found out last week that his name was one of about 300 signed on a letter questioning Kerry's service, he was "flabbergasted."

"It's kind of like stealing my identity," said Anderson, who spent a year on a swift boat as an engine man and gunner.

The letter, which was posted on the Swift Boat Veter-ans for Truth Web site, claims the Demo-cratic presidential candidate has "grossly and knowingly distorted the conduct of the American soldiers, marines, sailors and airmen of that (Vietnam) war."

The letter also criticizes Kerry for trying to change his image from a critic of the war to a war hero.

"After reading the letter," Anderson said, "it kind of got under my skin. I had never come across a situation where someone used my name without my support or approval. It's not a very comforting feeling."
How does this group have any credibility left??

So because 1 of 308 don't agree, that just throws the opinion of the other 307 out the window? I love the way the left is so quick to jump on the right for criticizing a 'war hero' like Kerry's service.. but will slash and burn the 300+ Swift Boat Vets.

Crimson, did you read it? It does not simply state that 1 does not agree with them, but that his signature was forged. Uh, if that is true that pretty much seals the fate of the SBV. Now I know you read the same thing I did. Why you chose to ignore it is a matter of the courts 🙂

Wow, 300.....out of how many vets?? With over 50,000 killed the number of vietnam vets must be in the hundreds of thousands. SBVFTT only got 308 and had to lie to get that many?? Do the math. If 50% of those vets are Republican I would think they would need tens of thousands of names in order to give any credibility to it. If the vets hate them as they say they wouldn't have any trouble getting those names either and that's that counting the Republicans. According to SBVFTT the Democrats hate him also. LOL!! Crimson, IMO you just lost any credibility you had with that post. You're strictly partisan and just want to bash Kerry. End of story.

Now that this thing has gone on a couple weeks and the dust has settled, it looks like on one hand we have a bunch of proven liars and crooks and the other side a media that took to long to debunk them and gave them too much airtime.

Looks to me like we have Kerry who still won't answer questions about his service, and the awards he received while doing it.. Your statement that they are 'proven liars and crooks' doesn't make it so. That seems to be the lefts tactic on this board lately.. make statements that are debatable and just make the claim that its fact or the truth..

Since the left seems to hell bent on numbers, there are hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions of people on both sides of this issue still.. I hardly think that shows anything has been 'proven'.

I'm sure there's an instance of a signature on Kerry's nomination papers in any given state thats forged as well, does that mean Kerry's candicacy is not legitamate? Of course not.. Pretty strange logic you have there.. I don't see how that proves that what they are saying isn't true.. Only kerry can do that, and he seems to refuse to do it.

Next time I will consult with you before posting to make sure I have credibility.. Anyways, these 300 vets worked in the same area and jobs as Kerry did, and many of them had direct contact with him and his leadership skills. I don't see how the 10's of thousands of other soldiers in Vietnam would have a better understanding of him. Of course, thats not to say they can't have an opinion.. however, if I were to guess, roughly half of all vets support Bush, and half support Kerry.. so we have 100's of thousands on both sides of the issue.. what does that prove? Both sides are liars? Its amazing that 100's of Swiftboat vets are ignored, but when _1_ of them, or _1_ person who worked with Kerry says something they say isn't true.. then THROW EVERYTHING OUT THE WINDOW, its all false.. give me a break.. if anyone has no credibility here its the left..

Looks to me like we have Kerry who still won't answer questions about his service, and the awards he received while doing it..

Which questions are those? Why he isn't pro-life? Why he isn't a neocon? Because if he were a pro-life neocon you can be sure O'Neil would be praising Kerry for his honorable service.

You should be ashamed for questioning a Vietnam vet's service. You denigrate the memory of all those who have served our great country in the last centuries and their ancestors. Shame on you Crimson.

Edited so CKG would stop crying. 😉

Ummm... anyone else find that a bit "interesting"?

I agree with Crimson - kerry has gotten away without answering the questions about his service. He could end most of the speculation by authorizing the release of all the records.

Go get 20,000 signatures before you start representing the veitnam vets. Until then STFU

With the ignorant posts that are put up as "gospel" by the right, I think the left is starting to cause some damage with this issue. SBVFTT, go get 30 or 40% of the vietnam vet's signatures and then come back and make your point. Until then you are nothing more then spinmeisters.

?? So Kerry can come back from war and question all those in authority who sent him there as well as all those soldiers who were over there and that's his "right," but questioning Kerry about his service (even if it's from fellow vets) should cause us to feel shame? Talk about wanting your cake and eating it too. I don't doubt Kerry's service, in fact, I could really care less, but for you to shield him from any and all scrutiny is more than a bit suspicious. Can I say "For you to question any of Bush's policies is to denigrate the memory of all those presidents who served before him"? No, that would be a rediculous statement, just like yours.

Enhhhhh. WRONG. I'm not talking about questioning authority or questioning people. I'm talking about questioning service. See the difference? You neocons have problems with shades of gray I've noticed. 😉

LOL, funny that you mention "shades of gray" in the same sentence as you assume I am a "neocon." You seem to be the one with black-n-white issues, as you seem to only have "Anti-Bush" or "Neocon" categories. 😉

Some people just call them the way they seem them. Kerry served in Vietnam and has been in battle. Who are you to "denigrat" him?? Have you been shot at? Have you even been in the service?

Another LOL. You sure turned this into something personal pretty quickly. Find a single post where I've "denigrated" Kerry, I dare ya. Let me save you some time, you won't. If anything, I support Kerry and his service, and respect him for it, as I do all who served. I can do that without ever having served or being shot at.

My point was that it irresponsible to claim that Kerry's record and reputation are off-limits, while simultaneously bashing anyone who attempts to question him. There are discrepancies regarding both Kerry's service as well as Bush's. Why is one untouchable and the other fodder for all anti-Bush zealots? It is also hypocritical to claim that everyone who opposes your view must only see the world as black & white. What was your point?
