I'm getting my Wii repaired at lunch so I'll try to hit Toys R Us then because it's nearby.

Just because I'm curious, I called my local BB and they have 120 copies sitting the shelves now.

Nope! Just picked up my copy and gift card at my local TRU - (Manchester, CT). I didn't even know the details of the gift card offer, but they handed it to me without my even mentioning it.
 
Just picked up my copy from TRU. Got the $25 gift card with no problems. Co-worker in front of me got a $50 gift card because he bought two copies.
 
update:

TRU was OOS when I called them back @ lunch. Went over to BB, had them pricematch TRU gift card. Got a gift card no problem, purchased the Wiimote charger pack + game for 57~. Technically, BB only price matches stores that have the item in-stock. The CSR didn't even call, as they had done several price matches that day. So, it's a YMMV if TRU is OOS.
 
Oh yeah, I went to TRU at lunch again today and they had it. Got the gift card. It says limited quantities for the gift card, but it's not clear what that means. A friend in another area checked his TRU, and they didn't have it in stock. They said they might have it tomorrow. I'm not sure if that meant they ran out or if they just hadn't gotten it in yet - I can't imagine they'd expect shipments two days in a row.
 
I wasn't able to get it at TRU, but I had a reservation at Gamestop. I've played the game for about an hour and a half, and have obtained 4 stars. So far the game is awesome. The visuals are so smooth and vivid. Pictures on the net don't do it justice. You just have to see it in live action in 480p. The music is awesome as well. My only complaint is that it is very easy to get dizzy when you are on a small planet. Other than that, this game is freaking awesome. 😛
 
I just ran to TRU with giftcards, thought I was gonna get COD4 but ended up with Galaxy, some free Galaxy coin, and a $25 gift card... not bad. I'll try it out later.
 
yay..picked up the game and the gift card at TRU. No coin though. There wasn't anyone at the TRU I went to. Now its time to play!

The one I stopped at had a line of at least 5 people when I got in it, and 5 when I left... as well as a big ole stack of Galaxies and gift cards... I dont get this promo, but I love it.
 
Gonna have to hit up TRU tomorrow AM.. Shit sells out around here superfast though.. S'ok, it will be an xmas gift for my wife anyway so I will have to wait to play.

Any word on how long this $25 GC deal lasts ?
 
So um... yeah, this is the first Wii title so far that I came away from saying "holy shit, that was awesome." I only got the first 4 stars, but wow... I had an absolute blast doing it. The spherical planets are a bit disconcerting at first, but they're not as bad as I thought they'd be.

Excellent first impressions from me.
 
I tried TRU but they weren't getting them in stock until tomorrow so I said screw it and picked it up at best buy instead.
 
Got a slip from TRU guaranteeing a copy for tomorrow and gift card as well. Apparently I am ticket#51 :Q
 
This game is awesome. Just really really fun to play. So hard to put it down! No other Wii game comes close to this. I liked zelda, but zelda is a chore compared to smg.
 
Picked it up yesterday, my opinion is that it's the best game I've played in years after the first 10 stars. The graphics are very impressive and the gameplay is of course incredible just like SM64, but I think I'm most impressed by the awesome soundtrack. I'm so used to Nintendo throwing in cheesy midi music in their first party games but this is really impressive.
