huh??

are we talking about the same thing?

what number are you talking about?

I have never seen what you are talking about.

the answer was correct its a number like this..

general: Sixy (Hutta 1) says hi!

that is what he was asking about.. what are you seeing?

Settle down, Francis. It's blatantly obvious he's referring to the number that indicates how many toons are on planet.

Cool Story Time.

So my static group has been playing MMOs for a long time together. We have this practical joke that revolves around the "follow" command that started in Vanguard.

In Vanguard, we were doing the epic mount quest (which had like 8 hours worth of traveling) so we would frequently take breaks and follow the one leader taking our group to the next object with follow. Well one time, we came back 15 minutes to find ourselves all dead at the bottom of a huge gorge. The leader was taking a shortcut and jumped off the cliff before he looked down to realize we wouldn't survive the fall. It took us a full 15 minutes to get back to that spot.

So in every MMO, whenever we have a "follow" moment, we laugh about it and have good times.

This time, everyone was following me on Taris and I took us to a republic outpost (we are imperial) right next to the bind terminal. When they got back, I told them I accidently trained mobs and we died at the outpost. So they all rezzed and clicked on the bind point only to get "access denied" and all turrets killing them. They all thought, wtf that was weird, why are they shooting us? I told them I bound fine but then they got aggro and I died too. So we spent a good 5 minutes dying over and over again until a republic player was sitting there "laugh" emoting at us. One group member figured out that since the republic player wasn't getting blasted that we were in a republic base. LMAO!!!

Does the experience gained by space missions decay based on the number of times you do them, or based on your level? So far I've leveled several times per day and since you can only do a space mission's main experience granting mission once per day I can't tell which is responsible; level or repetition.

More to the point - when it starts slowing in later levels(34 atm), will that mean I can rely on space missions in the morning for a boost?

CSB.

Bioware can gladly have my $15 in 3 days. I'm having a total blast.

Same here, I paid 6 months in advance. I so overwhelmed with things to do I never get bored. I have yet to experience grind either, it's actually too easy to level, but since I also craft as I level I end up spending a lot of time just playing instead of worrying for the next DING!

Ill probably end up playing until I finish all 8 classes story lines

Is there such a thing as class specific armor or is it all heavy/medium/light?

I know there's companion specific armor, I haven't seen anything class specific, though. although I know weapons like Sniper might be de facto class specific.

Pretty sure I have a piece of Trooper armour on. Not positive about that though since I can't see it right now. :hmm:

Yes there are some class specific armors and gears [obviously a smuggler can't use a lightsaber!]. :D

Lol, smugglers and operatives are so overpowered it isn't even funny. I look forward to them getting nerfed to oblivion.

My story was cool, thanks!!

This game just didn't hook me in like I thought it would. If this game was a single player that just had the story specific quests I think I would appreciate it more.

Overpowered how?

They hit way too hard. Lots of complaints on the forums and I witnessed it firsthand in a warzone today getting two-shotted with nearly 14K of HP and a purple armor set. I said something in chat about it and another guy responded "No, they're only critting you at 4K to 8K per hit and stun locking you," obviously being sarcastic.

Oh, you're talking about PvP. I thought might have been talking about sleep dart or something in PvE.

What abilities are they critting with for that much? I'm an operative, only 35 atm.

The one NOT in parenthesis? It's the number of individuals currently in that zone/instance.

that's what I thought, except it doesn't seem to have any relation to what you can see under the who menu.

If I'm not mistaken, which often I am, armor has stat ratings which help out your class. Like critical would be for a DPS or healer; power would make your hitting harder and something like absorption would be for a tank. I guess that's more reliant on mods and augments though.

expertise is not a dumb idea...it stops hardcore PVE players having a big advantage in PVP. Also stops PVP players having an advantage in PVE at the start of when content gets released.

Can the PvE portion of the game be soloed for the most part if I wish to? I'm saying most of it, not all of it though I'm aware, it's an MMO, so obviously getting a party and playing with others has to play its part for bosses. But I'm referring to most quests and perhaps a few bosses maybe? Basically can I "complete" the story-line(s) mostly alone?

Thanks.

Wrong. Level 50 PvP gear is already the equivalent of Tier PvE gear even without expertise. With, it's an utter joke.

I think you argued the reverse of his point. He said the PVE gear isn't as good for PVP, you then countered by saying PVP gear is good for PVE.

It is to stop PVE hardcore from also dominating PVP. This is true, since PVE has no expertise on it.

However, the PVP gear is also great for PVE since it just adds expertise on already great PVE stats. This means hardcore PVPers can ALSO do great in PVE.

In short:

They apparently DID NOT want hardcore PVE'rs to dominate PVP with their gear.
They apparently DID however want hardcore PVP'rs to ALSO be viable in PVE.

PVE gear = great for PVE, ok for PVP.
PVP gear = great for PVP and PVE

You can and are supposed to complete the main class and world story arcs solo + companion. Though there are "heroic" group quests along the way, these are all self-contained side challenges, not central to the main plot.

The flashpoints have their own plot arc that shows you a wider/alternate perspective, and you'll want to play the main ones as well (the one from the fleet to the cap world, the two in the mid-30s, and the two on Ilum). But again, it's a separate arc, and you don't need to step into any at all if you don't want.

Nope. I'm saying PvP gear utterly dominates PvP.

The whole warzone setup is supposed to be more skill-based than gear-based. Expertise doesn't level the playing field -- the other stats already do that. What it does do is make it absurdly hard to do well unless both you and your team are geared in as much Champion/Battlemaster stuff as your opposition. Even vs. tier PvE-geared players the PvP gear folks will have a significant advantage, but vs. a regular-geared player the difference is utterly ridiculous.

Tomorrow's patch will hide this in the level 50 bracket, but all it will mean is that you have to pile up Champion bags before you hit 50 or you'll be toast (unless you have a strong team to carry you).

Expertise was a late addition to the game, and it's both unnecessary and contrary to the spirit of the rest.
