Couple Qs:

• On orange armor: I want the trooper look on my shadow. Can I put resolve armor mods in normally heavy armor and wear it?

• On reverse engineering: RE green gets you a blue. RE a blue for a purple. Is there another tier you can learn if you RE the purple?

Well i found the PTR patch notes on google and I have to say that I am really upset. They completely ignored fixing and of the bugs on the smuggler class. Most annoying of all being the cover bug and the animation completing on a attack and no dam being dealt. Its fricking rediculous in pvp. Oh and the change to Illum is going to suck since Empire out number us 50s on our server by like 10 to 1. Forget doing the dailys there anymore. Saves me time to go lvl an alt that isnt broken.

What cover bug? The only cover "bug" that I ever encountered was Aimed Shot not completing while in cover under some situations, and that was fixed about 2 weeks ago.

As far as I can tell, Orange gear is 100% dependant on it's mods, so you can do anything you want for looks.

I bought a lvl 14 orange armor chest piece and after I modded it it had the same stats and level requirement as a previous lvl 40 chest piece I took the mods out of.

I don't believe you can RE anything out of purples.

-Trooper armor is still probably going to be classed as heavy armor, so you'd need the heavy armor skill to use it.

-AFAIK you can't RE beyond purple.

1. You can wear any armor as long as you meet the requirements. As long as the armor doesn't say "BH Only" then you can slot whatever you want and wear it.

2. Nothing is past purple for RE recipes.

Rolling into natural cover is still bugged. You still have to cover in place for it to work.

i assumed they were the same. unless people are referring to the same side AH and the cross faction AH differently?

now im confused too lol.

As far as I know on Nar Shada and Tatooine they have cross faction galactic trade network. I've never been to one so I don't know if it's different then the ones you get for your own faction.

The rest of the GTNs are just for the faction you are playing.

I guess people calling them auction houses is throwing me off, because it resembles a store front retail trade to me more then an auction where you bid like ebay.

The orange gear from social vendors and some other sources is classed as "light" armor. I don't know if any of these have the trooper look or not, but it is a possible way to get the look without wearing heavy armor.

Yeah, most people are just so used to call it an "auction house". I've been trying to rid myself of a lot of the acronyms I'm used to using from past mmos, and use the ones that actually match the terminology in this game. So far I've typically failed :'(

yeah, i was wrong earlier (surprise!). you have the empire market (no bidding, so not an auction), the republic market, and 1 neutral market nobody uses on nar shaddah.

1 thing i do like is every item has a default value, just as a reference. i haven't played a game with that simple but good feature before.

1 thing i hate is everything is bound. give me a break.

The Galactic Trade Market is the AH. They are faction specific except for a cross faction AH which is located on Nar Shadaa's "Lower Promenade" iirc.

I think I read somewhere that the default value is (vendor price)*2.5

People have been pointing out that it's not an "AH" because there's no actual AUCTION. It's all a set price.

Everything isn't bound.. The majority of items are only bound IF equipped. Flashpoints I think most is bind on pickup.

Binding is a good thing, it helps maintain the economy.

yeah, auction house is just a leftover from WoW playing i guess. most of the time anything i put up on the WoW AH was pretty much bought immediately, nor did i more than extremely rarely bid on an item. just bought what i needed for the lowest price. in essence it ended up being like a market... so i guess it just seems the same although i realize that they are not.

i have been trying to use the correct terminology as well, but...old habits and all that.

I wonder how the value works on crafted items? It's a pain for me to try to figure out what something is worth when I have to buy metal from the GTN as part of the synthweaving component.

-Quests that you can't delete. I have quests that are grey from previous planets that I CANNOT delete.
I think this was in the 1.1 patch notes that went live on the Public Test Server last week (and, thus, should be rolled out in full soon).

Agreed that the lack of adjustable UI elements/windows is the biggest pain.

They definitely do need to add some customization ability to the UI. I love how LoTRO lets you move and resize pretty much everything.

So much negativity on the general forums. I wonder how many of those will resub just so they can continue to complain about the game... /rolleyes

I was expecting the negativity. Some people approached the game as an MMO only and in comparison to a game like Rift or WoW there are plenty of shortcomings. The UI isn't very customizeable, there's no combat log, no macro abilities, no dual spec, etc. I'm honestly surprised that anybody who picked it up strictly for the MMO qualities can be happy with it.

Of course if you treat it like KOTOR 3 then it is a fantastic game. I have completed just one of the eight story lines (Imperial Agent) and have around 150 hours logged since the start of early release. More importantly, almost all of those hours have been fun. There's been a lot of variety between the solo PvE questing along the agent story, the warzone and space combat stuff, crafting, and then group PvE flashpoints.

About Orange armor:

Yes, you can mod it up to 50 no matter what level it started at. HOWEVER, your raid gear will have stats pre-built into them so your orange gear will only take you to that point. You can rip mods out of raid gear if needed.

About crafting:

When you reverse engineer a green, you can get multiple blue recipes (5). From a blue you can get multiple purple recipes (3).

So there's a little flexibility in what you end up crafting.

Of course, after 50 it's 95% pointless. You'll use some biochem items and *maybe* a custom bracer/belt.

So heres a bit from an interview on the legacy system

So the legacy system, it's kind of inspired by the fact that the family dynamic is so important in the Star Wars movies. You have Luke being Anakin's son, the most famous father-son relationship in movies. We wanted to have a system that encouraged players to create alts and to play the game through the different story paths. So the legacy system is meant to do that. It essentially allows you to, instead of just having a bunch of alts that have no relation to each other, you can actually create a family tree where your alts can be related to your main character, either as, you know, a sibling, a son, a father, a family friend, or a husband and wife.

You can actually choose the relationship your characters will have with each other. And then you gain legacy experience points and legacy levels, and with legacy experience points and levels, that gives you--that allows you to unlock abilities, perks, a whole slew of different advantages, essentially, that all the members of your legacy tree will be able to enjoy.

So it's pretty tight, I think people are going to really like it, and it's something we want to push towards players who enjoy the level-up game. It'll also be beneficial to the end game, but it really is going to have a lot of abilities that make leveling up even more enjoyable and allow you to customize your leveling experience.

sounds kind of...interesting i guess. Just have tosee how it all works in reality. Should be here someitme in march. By then though ill probably have a few alts already going so itll be like adding something when im already in the middle of something.

As for the patch 1.1.....im glad they are fixing things. Seems nice to be adding a few things as well. Hopefully though they can start doing things i know the community wants. Fix the ui, balance pvp, the GTN....honestly i feel there is enough level 50 for most people as of now but pvping and just getting stunned to death gets old and boring...as does the WZ delays. And balance project so it does instant damage instead of the 1 second delay. our "shadow class" gets instant why not us?
