1st landing opportunity has been waived off. They are going to decide on the 2nd landing opportunity at KSC in about 20 minutes.

Looks like they're going to delay until a landing at Edwards Air Force Base in California.

EDIT: Because there were too many storm cells within 30 miles of KSC.

CNN interview with NASA staff member right now. One of the astronauts is holding a camcorder to record what it looks like coming in through the atmosphere during reentry. Can't wait to see that!!!!!

WB! :)

that was very cool, it fell w/o any engine power and glided to earth. And the footage of the small white spec turning into the distinguishable shuttle shape. that was cool. boom boom! that was cool too lol. too bad I don't live in LA to hear them. I remember when I was little, whenever the shuttle landed on edwards, u can hear it during the early morning hours, along w/ the windows shaking.

I missed the sonic boom, but I was able to see the shuttle streak in overhead when I went outside. Wow! I've never seen that before.:D

I've seen a film of that before. It's pretty neat, you see jets of plasma shooting out from the underside.

Goddammit! I meant to get up and actually observe the shuttle land but I was not awoken by my clock. Instead, I was awoken by the sound of the shuttle hitting the desert giving a short tremor through my neighborhood.... :(

Yeah it was. For some reason I felt quite emotional watching it come home. I guess from now on seeing one of them land is always going to bring back those images of Columbia breaking up.
