I hate Bush and I also don't like Michael Moore or how he presents things.
That being said the movie was entertaining....
My problems with how he presents things:
1. He makes it seem like letting the Saudis leave was a problem. Look, if your name was the same as teh terrorist who just attacked a country and you were in a foreign country and completely innocent you wouldn't want to be around either. I gaurantee you on the flights back there were CIA officials questioning them.
2. It's SMART not to piss off the Saudis if they really do own 7% of our economy, not to mention the oil that flows in.
3. He takes advantage of the same poor people and people who are victims in order to make points and it's so over the top that it taints the points he's trying to make.
4. That lady who lost a son, it seems like he was taking advantage of her to make a point. Yes, she wanted to be on film but I can't help but think that she's sitting there crying over a son and he's filming her pain in order to make his points.
5. He blames everything on 1 guy almost like congress has no effect on what goes on.
6. He seems to imply that the Bush administration is driven by its loyalty to its investors. Look, everyone and I mean everyone is personally biased and hires people they have worked with and know for high level jobs. How do most companies hire? That's right, referrals and through someone who knows someone. THis is no different in the US government. If you were in any high level position you'd fill the spots under you with people you trust. I know a few people who I would want working for me. You'd award contracts to people who have helped you in the past and who you know can do it. Anyone would do this.
My problems with Bush:
1. He can't speak coherently or think coherently.
2. He runs 4 companies into the ground and gets bailed out by foreign angel investors, how the hell can he run a country? Looks like he's great at running up deficits.
3. He blindly starts wars in the name of "national security". Look, if you aren't willing to fight in a war yourself you better not be starting one.
4. The ridiculous thing is if he brings democracy to Iraq and finds Bin Ladin he'll be looked at as one of the greatest presidents ever and he knows this.
Thoughts in General:
1. If you're not willnig to go fight in the war yourself you better not be starting a war. If I were president, don't know how well this would fly with the people but, if I declared a war I would think it was so just that I too would be out there fighting.
2. It's scary that Congress isn't reading the bills that pass...there's so much crap added to the bills as they go through that it's scary to think they arne't reading these
3. Why aren't US soldiers getting the contracts to rebuild Iraq? Here's an idea. Halliburton, you get the contract to go over there but you have to hire US soldiers to do your work and pay them 8-10k a month to drive the buses like civilians do. This would raise army moral. They're there anyways, let them earn more money.
