I agree with what's been said so far. I HATED the demo and thought the controls were a huge mistake for the game. I bought it anyways since my friend wanted to coop it.

I can say that I was COMPLETELY wrong and I love the game. In fact I'd say it's one of my favorite games that I've played on the 360 yet.

There is so much to the game that I don't think the demo could ever do it justice. The controls actually are perfect for the game, and after playing it I wouldn't change them at all.

I played RE4 on the Gamecube and Wii, the "A" button on the GC is huge and well placed to use it as a firing button, on the 360 I just didn't like it. I play enough FPS games though that type D fits me well.

Methinks I'm a loser, the demo levels are two of my favorite levels :p Once again, I really like the urban African setting.

I hope they add on some more non-multiplayer content, maybe something like the side missions with Ada from RE4 or something.

I'm in the same boat. I was at gamestop on release day, and couldn't pull the trigger b/c of the horrible demo experience. However, my sis in law picked it up and said it was the bomb, she also needed a partner so I gave it a try and I'm hooked now. This game is awesome!!! :D

Review.

generally like his reviews, but I gotta say that one is disappointing didn't even touch on coop :(

coop is a must imo if you want to get 100% out of the game

I just finished 5-2 and that boss fight was the most ??? fight yet. I killed it but the whole time it seemed I wasn't doing any damage.

THere's a trick to it, and once you figure it out he's easy to beat.

5-2...is that the

*Spoiler*

Uroboros? If so don't bother with the flame thrower, grab your grenade launcher and load up on incendiary rounds. Give your partner a magnum or other high damage weapon, shoot him with a round and then switch to another weapon (or use grenades, whatever) and shoot the bulbs that pop out. He's easy.

I did a speed run to unlock infinite Rocket Launcher and I shot him once with a rocket for instant win.

BTW I HATE SHEVA AI NEAR THE END OMG DIE

The demo was a breeze on what I suppose was Normal difficulty but the same level on Veteran on the full version is insane! The amount of ganados (sorry, I'm not fond of the term majini yet) is really overwhelming and the controls really add a lot to the intensity of the experience.

My only qualm with the game is the forced co-op, it's great if you play with another human being but if you play solo you should be able to ditch Sheva, she's more a hindrance than an asset when controlled by the AI :S

The Type A and Type C control configurations are the best for Resident Evil 4 fans, Type A is exactly the same scheme which means you won't get strafe, Type C is just like RE4 except with Left Analog rotate and strafe.

I just rented the game this weekend and beat it last night. Overall, I would give it about a 7/10. I really miss when Resident Evil was Survival Horror. Ever since RE4, it's just another run and gun type of game, and there are so many games that do the genre better.

The partner system is also really annoying. It was bad in Resident Evil Zero, and it's pretty bad in RE5. The inventory management is horribly cumbersome and actually WORSE than in the old games, and the partner AI is really bad. Trying to get some ammo from your partner during a fight (in real time) and hearing "I can't right now!" over and over again is beyond frustrating. The AI also has a knack for shooting nothing and getting mauled by enemies and sunlight laser beams (I lost at least three First Aid sprays because the AI stood in the lasers.)

The Merc mode is really disappointing too. It's just the RE4 version all over again, without the cool Wesker music! :(

I also really, REALLY hate goofy mini-games that distract from the main game. They were in Metal Gear Solid 4 and Gears of War 2. They drive me insane. So, the developers create this awesome and fun gameplay engine, then they muck it up with half-assed rail shooters and robot battles and button-press cutscenes? What a waste of time...

So overall, RE5 was fun but...it makes me really miss the good old days. RE5 (and RE4) seem like some sort of bastard hybrid between survival horror and action that doesn't really do either particularly well.

And sadly, there is no "Jill Sandwich" or "Master of Unlocking."

:(

All of the stupid and numerous vehicle parts in GoW2?

You obviously haven't played the old Resident Evil games since you don't get that reference...

Anyone know if I have to replay from beginning to end or even the last chapter to get unlimited ammo for a 2nd upgraded gun? I totally forgot to upgrade the m3 before the last battle. Or can I load up any chapter, ugprade then quit + save and it'll allow me to get unlmiited ammo. I figure fully upgraded M3 should let me breeze through run #2 quite quickly.

Kind of confused by the question, on the "select a chapter" screen though it tells you which chapters have been completed and such. Really if you want unlimited ammo with the M3 farm for cash and just buy the upgrades, probably the easiest way.

If you want a "breeze" runthrough though forget the M3 and fully upgrade one of the magnums.

I'm only one upgrade away from a fully upgraded m3.

what I'm wondering is do I have to play from start to end again. Or can I just pick any chapter, do the upgrade then save and quit and have the option to buy unlimited ammo.

I'm thinking about farming for cash. Probably do the rotten egg exploit or just do chapter 3-1? one of them has tons of jewels or the one with tons of lickers they drop 5K jewel pieces.

Oh, you don't even have to be in the game to do the upgrade. You can do it in "item manager." But yeah, or you can just load a game, do the upgrade, save, quit. It'll work either way.

Skip the SW500, it's strong but it's got alot of recoil so it shoots at about 1/2 the speed of the other magnums.

Chris Redfield extra costume. Leopard-print Man Thong apparently. Not sure why they're adding it now...

Uh...

But seriously, any idea what this patch fixed and/or added?
