That's a smart attitude. Keep your expectations low and you won't be disappointed.

Obama/Biden - 2008: Hope and change...

Trump/Pence 2016: Fear and loathing...

It makes more sense when you remember that Republicans like to do the opposite of what Obama would do. Knowing that, Trump winning makes sense.

OK, conservative sense...

I watched.
I think it was all about the balloons.
A week of drinking and drugs, and all the people really wanted were the balloons.
Catch that camera cut to Giuliani as Giuliani mouthed WHERE'S THE BALLOONS???
Priceless.
The Trump family standing there, no balloons.
Everyone looking up as if they expected God himself to descend from the rafters.
No.... they were wondering why no balloons.

Then a few balloons trickled down, reminded me of Reagan's trickle down economics.
Then a few more. And a few more.
Obvious balloons were all anyone cared about the entire week at the convention, balloons and buffoons.
In the end, slowly the balloons came thru.
However, the buffoons had no trouble coming thru, all week long.

And CNN...
That hispanic lady on CNN (don't know her name but she is always on as a talking head).
BEFORE the DT speech she said Donald needed to bring together Hispanics and say nice things to unite.
AFTER the DT speech, she was absolutely fuming on CNN over the DT speech.
Pissed as hell with Donald.
She never heard that Hispanic love and unity she so expected from Donald.
All she heard was the division and hate.
Wow was she pissed off at Trump.
And as a Hispanic republican she had been so hopeful DT would say the right thing.
Guess that's just one more republican Hillary can count on for their vote.

The only two impressions that came out of this convention were, Donald's kids love their rich daddy. And what else would one expect?
He enables their spoiled rich kid trust fund.
No child is going to object to a trust fund, nor their rich daddy. Would you?

The second impression, Donald doesn't have many real friends.
Not one single intelligent person would agree to stand up and speak about Donald.
We had a host of weirdos, failures, people no one has ever heard of, and a few nut case off their rocker loser celebrities, like that old fathead sheriff from AZ.
And Bob Dole was there only because Bob loves balloons, booze, and the Trump women.
Bob... was that a pencil in your pants or were you just happy to be there?

Next week we have the democratic convention.
All Hillary needs to do is stand there and say VOTE FOR ME, and that should do it.

Attitude has nothing to do with it. When Trump wins in November that's when we get to start making America great again.

If you watched the entire acceptance speech like I did, you would know it was one of the best he has given. Since it was an hour long, I used the HTML5 option of 2X speed. That cut it down to 30 mins and change.

That is some CHANGE YOU CAN BELIEVE IN!!! ():)

Here is the full acceptance speech - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34Svt3kfq1c

There is a subsection of American conservatives (and apparently a couple of Canadians as well) that must be among the most miserable, negative and unhappy people on the face of the planet.

The immaturity in this thread is epic. I don't blame everyone. It's been so many decades since America had someone who sounded like a real president, people are terrified. Many of you weren't even born yet, back when Reagan was president. Probably nobody here was born when JFK was assassinated. Tough talking leaders brought us greatness and we were feared globally. Nobody fucked with America, for the most part, except on GWB's watch. I want to go to a time when nobody fucks with America again. I don't want a time, when our president is bought by our enemies, as with Hillary.

I'm guessing you are talking about a time when they didn't teach history because you apparently never learned any.

Just off of the top of my head for the times America was "fucked with":
Pearl harbor
Bay of pigs
Iran hostage situation
The whole cold war
The original world trade center bombing

I want to go back to a time when morons like you had a sense of shame and knew when to keep their idiotic thoughts to themselves.

How old is she there? She looks 14. She's really pretty, but damn.

I hate to jump to conclusions with only slivers of information, but this sure does scream inappropriate with all those comments and stuff. Wonder if other awkward/inappropriate contact pics/movies will start surfacing?

Only a true pinko would try and regulate people's thoughts and speech. Are you a pinko, Shane?

We haven't had a president who was worth more than the powder to blow them to hell, since Reagan. JFK and Reagan are the two best presidents of my lifetime. Clinton could have been good, but he ended up being a philandering, raping sleaze bag. Yes the economy was good during Clinton, but you all must remember that both houses of congress were controlled by the Republicans and Newt Gingrich was a key cog in that success.

And to you guys saying shit about the way Donald holds his daughter...good gawd! I have similar poses with my own daughter and grand daughter. Maybe you kids weren't loved. Holy shit!

What are you babbling about? Supplying facts to a conversation isn't regulating thoughts dumb ass. Try a little harder with the deflection next time.

Don't you understand? America is on it's last legs. It's economy is shattered and half the population is homeless. No one will trade with the US any more. It depends on Haiti for it's military defense. UNDESIRABLES have taken over. American needs a STRONG MAN with REAL SOLUTIONS and a BIG STICK and TUFF TALK (and, maybe, small hands). Then America will be GREAT AGAIN!

One of the best speeches Trump has given.

I am a writer. But I have ZERO political and military experience.

I could have written this speech in a few hours myself, and I am positive many others here could as well.

SIMPLE, for the simple-minded, empty, without any substance.

A demagogue whose priority are fear mongering, and PROMISES, PROMISES, PROMISES...without ever getting more specific. Primitive.

The US American peoples have become so easy, their standard so hideously low that they are now *accepting* someone as a nominee for prez on promises alone - something which I, you and probably anyone else wouldn't have a difficulty to do. It's a different story to actually propose convincing SOLUTIONS to problems.

A 12 year old can go around and promise to everyone "from January 20th we're restoring law and order", beat ISIS, fight terrorism, illegal immigration, cop violence, etc..etc..

A primitive, *cheap* speech.

Have a question, thought, related but maybe not worth a new thread on 401K retirement, investments, stocks.
Before Trump is elected in November, would it be wise to do something else, withdrawal or temporally redirect into a 5-year guaranteed fund?

Considering the hit the market could and most likely will take on November 9th, the day after, it will be very difficult for most investors to lose potentially thousands on November 9th.
And considering how the world will react to the election of Donald Trump as US president, and considering how volatile the markets can be from work events and world reactions in this global economy, I just hate to see thousands potentially disappear in just one day.

How Europe reacts could be felt by the market here and especially felt in the old pocket book.
How China reacts could be felt here and again crashing 401K's, investments, stocks.
I think it would be wise to at least consider that possibility of losing thousands on November 9th.
When America appears unstable, that has a huge impact on markets world wide.
And usually the instability is coming from Europe or China or lands offshore.
This time it could be instability over here that affects everything over there and thus affecting everything back over here.
Hell... I hate to see thousands upon thousands disappear in one day. And the people most hurt will be those least able to afford that hit.
What to do? What to do?

Jeeezzz Louise, it's apparent none of you have gone through getting family pictures made where the photographer places people in odd poses.

Along with a comment about wanting to fuck someone just like his daughter. Happens all the time.

Show me an exact quote. People can get so full of hate, during an election cycle, that they just make shit up. This is one of those times.
