The key is grieving, which the Benghazi mother was still doing. Parents who have gone through that process and have a clarified message on policy is another thing. I think it's exploitative to put a parent who is slobbering all over themselves and can barely keep it together up there. I guess we will see how this goes.

exactly. probably the vilest moment in political theater that I have witnessed.

Really quite shameful.

No, Trump, RNC tickets were not sold on eBay

Donald Trump boasted that the Republican National Convention hall was so “packed” during his prime time address that people were even selling convention tickets on eBay.

“Those seats were selling for a lot of money on eBay. They were going for big numbers,” he said on Friday morning.

But a POLITICO search of convention tickets sold on eBay, found that no tickets were actually sold.

Despite the plethora of Trump pins, vintage credentials, and other campaign swag being sold through the auctioning website, there was no proof that extra tickets had been on the market.

“I was thinking about taking 10 or 12 tickets and saying let's go. But they were selling for a lot of money,” he told a crowd of supporters.

I mean why even lie about something like this...it's totally pointless. The articles that paint him as someone who's living almost entirely in his own self created mental world seem more credible as of late even though I thought it was kind of an exaggeration.

Yes, it will be quite shameful to showcase BLM victim's families on stage for the DNC convention (which is what they're planning to do). Glad you agree.

So what was your opinion on how the dems used Cindy Sheehan and are planning to use mothers like Michael Brown's next week?

Apparently Trump thought the woman's speech was so worth watching that he called into O'Reilly's show (which was only on radio at the time...Fox was broadcasting the convention until Trump called in, then switched their broadcast to O'Reilly's show) during her time on stage. Guess Trump can't even stand being upstaged by a grieving mother.

Because he lies about literally everything. He is incapable of actually telling the truth. But the stupid fucks prefer their ugly lies to the truth that the world is full of mostly people less shitty than them.

You're correct on this. This is one case where both sides are guilty of this in roughly equal measure. It's just a sad fact about American politics.

Well once again Trump doesn't take rejection well.

Haven't seen this elsewhere yet so let me know if it's not accurate.

At least for what I read/saw, as I didn't watch it live, it didn't seem like Cruz said anything that a reasonable person would find to be bad for Trump, he just didn't say he endorsed him. I don't see how it's worth it for Trump to take the time to bash Cruz now, unless it's just to be vindictive.

at least I'm not the only one who scratched my head at Ivanka's speech.

She delineated some policy proposals:

- "As President, my father will change the labor laws that were put into place at a time when women were not a significant portion of the workforce. And he will focus on making quality child care affordable and accessible for all."

- "Politicians talk about wage equality, but my father has made it a practice at his company throughout his entire career. He will fight for equal pay for equal work, and I will fight for this too, right alongside of him."

Sounds good. The only catch is that Donald Trump himself has never outlined those proposals, even roughly. The candidate who has is Hillary Clinton.

Yeah, I don't want to see that either (Was already responding to the post mentioning Dems will do the same thing with Brown's and Trayvon's moms)

Pretty awful. Particularly since Michael Brown was a perpetrator and not a victim (despite what the media and some lying 'eyewitnesses' wanted everyone to believe).

And Sheehan seemed pretty unstable. It was not right to use her either.

Well, most people knew better than to watch on the regular networks. Cspan covered it without such interruptions. That's where I watched it.

What most observers still don't see is the the distinction between true believers and trolls. Trolls really aren't as common as many on the internet think (especially on the internet), but Trump and Yiannopoulos types are pure performance theater.

He tells the audience what they want to hear. There's a significant portion of the population left behind in modernization of society that simply want to be acknowledged, even if it's by some gratuitous opportunist.

You mean someone who points out the myth of the underpaid female population whos incomes meet or exceed that of equally employed males? :whiste:

No, I mean he tells people like you what they want to hear, in exchange for some fame and fortune. It's not a very competitive industry sans scholars or that whole fact-based community, which is why someone not particularly talented or smart can climb to the top.
