I was 95% uninterested up until a few days before release, and I bought it because I heard good things. I don't regret it even for a second. If you like the GTA series and don't hate the western theme then get it. Now.
 
While I'm not quite as high on it as I was pre-release (there are ALOT of things that need patching) it is still a good bit of fun.
 
Looks like mine won't be in until mid-late next week, so I'm once again contemplating buying a copy at Best Buy, and then returning the copy from Amazon to Best Buy once I get it in. My only worry is that the UPC codes will be different. Anyone know if this would be the case or not?
 
It may or may not be. If all else fails you could probably return the copy unopened to Amazon but I'm not sure...
 
I was thinking of the same thing

but dont want to end up with 2 copies

already missed out on schleping the spare code since I wont get mine for a few days

i posted the upc codes from amazon. goto the store and see if they match
 
Personally, I never could get in to any of the GTA games- really did not like them- but am loving this game- I just can't find enough time to play it- so damn addicting

I think the multiplayer has great potential, not necessarily the competitive but the co-op. They need to tweak it and make it more difficult but I've got several friends who played co-op all night and said it was the most fun they'd had on XBL in a really long time.

they need to figure out how to streamline the coop stuff more than. cause its not very upfront and friendly from my experiance.

I've only had the chance to play SP so far, and I think its pretty polished as is. They might have benefited from a demo or beta to get some customer feedback with the game-play dynamics that everyone is having issues with; or is that what you meant Kabob?
 
I've been finding treasures around the map that I can't get. I guess it's cause I'm not at the right point in the treasure hunter challenge. I can see the pile of rocks and the chest underneath, but I can't do anything.

I found the one by the hanging rock in my first couple hours of playing the game but couldn't uncover it.

Most of my complaints come from MP but in SP there are still several bugs. Mostly with the game getting caught up thinking you've done something when it doesn't register (trying to lift a girl I'd hogtied and she's still on the ground and I couldn't do anything...had to reload).

Picked up a copy at Best Buy, UPC code was 100% different than either of the Amazon codes, so I guess if I open it, returning the other one isn't going to happen.
 
Whoever designed this herding horses mission with Bonnie needs to be shot in the damn head. I'm seriously ready to break my damn controller. This bastards get stuck behind hanging rock no matter what I do. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
 
For herding, I found it easiest just to stay away from the herd and just recover the stragglers when they break away. The herd will move in the right direction on it's own.

Found it. If this is how all the treasure maps are going to be, i might not do them. that's fucking ridiculous because the map shows the treasure NOWHERE near that huge rock. its like further out away from it. if i didn't post here i wouldn't have found it to save my life.

How the hell do you know if someone is a bad guy or not while just roaming around? usually you can tell a lawman because of the badge and obviously if they start shooting you, they are bad, but I just ran across some guy shooting another guy while out running around. He killed the one dude so I shot the killer and I got -50 honor...
