Geez, I have to stop going through every dungeon I find. Almost level 30 now and was getting bored. So I decided to finally go to Kvatch. Wow. My first Oblivion gate and it looks awesome, just motivated me to get back into it hard. Also, is it me or is the Daedric Claymire really puny? I mean the longsword looks longer, wider and more "I will bludgeon you to death even if I'm blunt."
The claymore has a longer reach and does more damage.
Yep, love the longer reach and more damage, but compared to all the other claymores, this one doesn't "look" as powerful in terms of size. Although it does look evil...
OMG, level 30 and you finally decided to go to Kvatch...have fun after you close that first gate because its gonna be a b1tch!!!! The game's level scaling is gonna make you want to turn down the difficulty for this part, took me a very long time to get past this part at level 17 with agility at 100 and marksman at 75 or so and blade around 65. I managed to keep the difficulty bar a bit above medium.
Lots of people at the elder scrolls forum has b1tched about this particular part since they leveled up so much before doing the first parts of the main quest, which was reason why I decided to get it over with as soon as possible. Good Luck!! You can Deewwwwit!!!!

hehehe I finished kvatch at lvl 5 and closed 2 extra oblivion gates (with no potions!)
It's true thought about the suckiness of the difficulty (especially being a teeny lvl 10-15). I

Isn't the game based on what level you are, and shapes the world's characters accordingly?

Yep and like Tig Ol Bitties said, it REALLY works again people who like to take their time. I finally got around to do a thieves guild quest that I had been putting off. My friend did it earlier in his game and he just fought Imps and small creatures. When I got there, I had to fight HUGE magical things that shot lightening and wore heavy armor. One of the enemies could kill me in three hits.
By the end of the dungeon, I was out of enchantments and almost out of arrows. I basically just healed and protected myself with a bunch of potions, made a run for the goal, grabbed what I need, jumped down 3 stories, and ran out the front door with around a ton of magical summon creatures chasing after me. Luckily, since I'm a thief character, I'm able to run quickly and jump fairly long distances.

Hi all
I just got this game, and have invested a lot of time in a character. However, when I am supposed to raid the city (to rescue the emoror's son) with the 3 other soldiers, two of them turn on me and attack. I assume this was from the beginning of the game when I stole a horse, however, there were no soldier attacks until now. I tried the "pay bounty" cheat, and everything I can think of, but can't get past the level without them attacking me. I don't want to have to go back to the beginning. And this may not be the problem. :-(
Any ideas?

i am really taking my time [Level 11 - well over 100 hours and less than halfway, i guess] . . . part of my strategy is to enter an Oblivion Gate and clean it out easily - AFTER i get the message to rest and Level Up [but before actually levelling]. Closed 14 gates - easily.
i am having a real hoot creating magic weapons and armour . . . the hard part is deciding which ones to use and which ones to leave at home.
I'm level 21 and I still haven't delivered the amulet to Jauffre. I might just turn down the difficulty a notch.
back to Oblivion . . . C-ya!
EDIT: TheNiceGuy, i replied in your soon-to-be-locked thread.

Quick question, I was in a dungeon and was fighting off somethine like a mummy, not sure what is name was. I didn't see any messages or signs that I had gotten a disease or anything, but after that fight my carry capacity went fron 170 down to 150. How can i fix this? Is there somewhere I can look to see if I caught a disease or something? I leveled up shortly after that fight, so I have slept and rested since then, but the carry capacity remains low.
Yeah cure disease got my strength back up, but it still shows drain strength and endurance in my list.

How many Gates are there?
I cleared out 17, so far. :Q

one of them took 5 minutes [in "my" real-time] . . . i jumped a lava lake and headed up the tower . . . mostly one-hit kills with my new self-enchanted long sword

and ONE Sigil Stone per tower [that's what keeps the gates open] . . . they sure make some nice weapons [i am saving most of 'em for later]![]()

I can't say for sure, but there should only be one sigil stone per gate from what I understand. there can be multiple towers though, only one of which will have a sigil stone.
