I do have earlier saves that are too far back. Hindsight is always 20/20. I will try the console per recommendation.

not really ... you can level up in the Tunnels - before you exit - whether you pick athletics or not ... just find a "safe" corner and tape down "w" ... then put your Hero into "Sneak" and take another nap ... you will be both fast and stealthy ... and able to run from the fastest of Obscuro's Monsters. ... or sneak by them.

Lol, talking about cheating the game a bit, any good places to level up besides that?

Anyhow, just finished playing oblivion for the night, had to run from a spectral wolfpack and a spectral warrior. The spectral warrior chased me all the way back to town, and made me use a few health potions along the way. When I got back to the Imperial City, one of the guys in gold armor was right outside and I was like "Sweet I'm saved!"
...then I watched as the guy in gold armor was getting his butt kicked, but thought "Oh well, I don't care who wins, I get phat 1337 either way," then realized the gold guy losing meant I get to die...and then he went down and I thought about fleeing...but then realized I might be able to get some phat 1337 off of him. Unfortunately, he was only unconscious and not dead, I wonder if I would have been able to steal from him though...

Anyhow, I was stuck in a bad place with a bad ghost, until the gold guy got back up again and finished off the ghost. I once again thought of sweet 1337, but soon found that not only was the ghost's equipment not that good looking, he also couldn't be looted, nor could I pick up his not so great mace. I can't believe I wasted all that time (and potions) too, I had gotten away from it at one point, but went back for it since I thought I'd get something cool out of it. Oh well, maybe I can sneak back into the dungeon and successfully grab the equipment at the end and flee, or maybe just lead a wolfpack back to town, and grab some guard armor (not that it's hard to steal) and at the same time clear at the area so I can face the warlock one on one. And by one on one, I mean I'll lead him into the guillotines, cause there's no way I could take him.

you can level up athletics and sneak anywhere it is safe [inside a house; in the corner of a cave; etc.]
[overnight while you sleep]
you can also tape down the 'c' key to level up your Destruction, etc.

its called *exploiting* the game mechanics

after 1,000 hours withe Oblivion i had a LOT of exploits ... but no cheating or the console
[finished at Level 92 with everything maxed]
